![Jennifer Carpenter]()
The expansive world of
Yellowstone is gaining yet another talented name.
For a while there, fans of
Yellowstone and the show's subsequent spinoffs didn't have much to be excited about. The writers and actors strikes of 2023 delayed all creative projects for months, and once those strikes were resolved, some TV shows struggled to get back into their regular rhythm (or were canceled altogether).
Yellowstone is one of the show's that has yet to get back on its feet, though there are now steps in the right direction (
Season 5 filming has resumed). As for the flagship series' spinoff
1923, it too has experienced a pause in its storytelling. The good news there is that
filming has resumed as of May 30th, so now both shows that are still running (
1883 went for only one season) are back on track.
The cast of
1923 is already stellar, with the likes of Hollywood legends Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren starring in leading roles. And the show is adding another talented actress in Jennifer Carpenter for season two, who has most famously been featured in projects like
Dexter and
The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
According to reports, Carpenter will immediately add some sparks into the 1923 story with her character "Mamie Fossett," who is described as:
"A highly capable U.S. Deputy Marshall who serves warrants and makes arrests with confidence ahead of her time."

The character Jennifer Carpenter will be playing has been announced as a "recurring," and with her prior experience in dramatic roles, it'll be exciting to see her act opposite of Ford and Mirren. One could only assume that the Duttons will get tied up with the new U.S. Deputy Marshall in town, right?
Until season two rolls around, you can stream the first season of
1923 on Paramount +. Or you can take a look at the season one's recap which is linked below:
