Chicago White Sox Pitcher Mike Clevinger Called Out For Allegedly Not Paying Child Support & $20k In Legal Fees

Mike Clevinger is once again having his name tossed around online and, unsurprisingly, it’s not for good reasons.

Back in 2023, the Chicago White Sox signed Clevinger to a one year deal after he’d spent his early career with the Cleveland Guardians and San Diego Padres. His talent was undeniable but behind the scenes story lines began to accumulate, culminating in some explosive allegations from the mother of his child.

You can read all the details and see all the screenshots in this post, but to sum it up briefly, Olivia Finestead claimed in a series of Instagram stories that Clevinger threw an iPad at her while she was pregnant, strangled her, and threw chewing tobacco at their then less-than-a-year-old daughter.

Photos showed bruises and scratches that they say were from his physicality, made worse by daily drug use.

The MLB was aware of the allegations and the league claimed they were going to investigate. The White Sox released this statement at the time:

“Major League Baseball and the Chicago White Sox take any and all allegations very seriously, and the White Sox are completely supportive of the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse policy shared by MLB and the MLBPA. MLB opened an investigation after learning of these allegations.

The White Sox were not aware of the allegations or the investigation at the time of his signing. The White Sox will refrain from comment until MLB’s investigative process has reached its conclusion”

Well, that investigation ran its course and nothing came of it. Clevinger has remained a member of the White Sox, pitching 24 games in 2023 but just 4 last year. The team resigned him to a minor league deal this February.

That brings us to yesterday, when a friend of the woman who made the initial allegations quoted the White Sox starting lineup, saying:

“Nice, your employee Mike Clevinger hasn’t sent over his monthly child support for the 3 year old he physically neglects yet- can yall make sure that’s sent over before first pitch?”

Two big allegations there… Behind on child support is one thing but physically neglects his child? I’d say it’s hard to believe but allegations have been made similar to that before (Though again an MLB investigation was done and apparently nothing was found).

She added on that he also owes $20k in court ordered legal fees.

Yet again, a bad look for Clevinger.

It needs to be said that these are all allegations and no further proof was given to back up these claims.

Clevinger is currently dating (maybe?) another woman who Lindsey Hill claims is a “delusional enabler”:

I can confirm that Clevinger does not follow her on Instagram, despite her posting these pictures just yesterday:

Whatever is going on, one thing is for sure… Mike Clevinger has himself in a complex situation.

I truly wish nothing but the best for all of the children involved here. It’s never good when kids get mixed up in adult problem and I’m praying that everyone can find a solution to best support those children, regardless of anything else.

And, Mr. Clevinger, if you do owe the mother of one of your children money, just freaking pay it. It can’t possibly be worth the headache.
