White Sox fans look away…
Everyone knew it wasn’t going to be a great season for the Chicago White Sox, and even though they’ve won two of their first four games, it appears their fans have already completely given up on the team.
“How can you say that?! Just cause some people are complaining online doesn’t reflect what real fans are doing in real life!” To anyone who had the urge to say something like that, let me show just how inexpensive tickets are for the Sox upcoming game against the Minnesota Twins on April 2nd.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:10pm and if you wanted to go, or even treat a bunch of your friends to a beautiful midweek ball game, head over to StubHub where you can get tickets for literally one dollar. Yes, a single dollar bill.
White Sox fans have already ABANDONED their team
Tickets for Wednesday's game against the Twins are selling for $1 (yes, one dollar) on StubHub

For reference, tickets for the Philadelphia Phillies on the same date start at $23, Los Angeles Dodgers tickets for tonight start at $63, and New York Mets for tonight starts at $14…
I seriously can’t comprehend it. I live outside of DC and go to some Washington Nationals games which are typically pretty empty BUT there’s never a chance I could get in for a single dollar. I realize the team had literally the worst season in MLB history last year and is not really showing signs that this year will be all that different (though they scored 9 runs via three homers today) but come on guys, they’re going to start paying people to go to a game soon. It’s so sad for a franchise that’s been around since 1894.
Maybe they need Frank Thomas to make a comeback and put a “Big Hurt” on a few baseballs with these new torpedo bats…
The White Sox last made the postseason in 2021, where they fell 3-1 to the Houston Astros in the ALDS. The following year they posted an 81-81 season but things quickly went downhill from there. Two straight 100 loss seasons culminated in last year’s disaster. They lost 121 games, the most of any team in modern history, beating the previous record of 120 losses by the 1962 New York Mets. They didn’t break the all-time record though, which is still held by the Cleveland Spiders from the 1899 season. The Spiders finished with a nearly unbelievable record of 20 and 134, a .130 winning percentage… Have to imagine that’s an unbreakable record.
The White Sox last World Series win came in 2005. Lead by Mark Buehrle, Paul Konerko, A.J. Pierzynski, and Juan Uribe (with Frank Thomas slugging off the bench in an injury limited season), they swept the Houston Astros (then in the National League) to bring the Windy City it’s first MLB Championship since 1917.
Will the White Sox be able to turn things around and get their fans excited to go see them? Time will tell but it’s not looking good early this year…
