John Rich makes a good point here.
The country music star was considered to be one of the leaders of the “Bud Light Boycott” when it was in full force in 2023. I’m sure everyone is familiar with the backlash that Bud Light faced after their decision to partner with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney backfired a couple of years back. Sales have still been slipping in recent months, but as the old saying goes, “time heals all wounds.” It seems like the “Boycott” phase has probably wrapped up…
The boycott really started to take off when Kid Rock took aim to a a few cases of Bud Light with an automatic rifle… in his own backyard. And that show of protest is now what Liberals are pointing to to justify the violence, vandalism and destruction of Tesla vehicles, which is of course, to protest Elon Musk’s involvement with the Trump Administration.
And I now what you’re thinking… how is shooting up a few cases of Bud Light, that you already paid for, the same as destroying someone’s $75,000 car… or multiple $75,000 electric cars? Well, that’s the argument being made…
Exhibit A:
It was sure ok for MAGA to shoot cases of Bud Light and try to cancel the brand but we can’t call for a Tesla boycott without being called domestic terrorists? Seems unfair pic.twitter.com/LZIMDF5W1y

HOW DARE YOU ATTACK TESLA, THOSE POOR CARS HAVE FEELINGS TOO!!! WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS?

Shocking… isn’t it?
That being said, John Rich still made sure to reference the movement with his recent observation on what’s happening with Tesla and Elon Musk. When Bud Light drinkers decided to showcase the power of the consumer by ceasing to drink the light beer, it was called the “Bud Light Boycott.” When those that dislike Elon Musk decided to start vandalizing and destroying Teslas, there was a different name that was given to that movement.
Domestic terrorism.
BREAKING: Trump says he will label violence against Tesla, $TSLA, dealerships as domestic terrorism.

It’s been all over the news recently, but Tesla dealerships, charging stations and the owners of the vehicles themselves have come under attack from individuals that don’t see eye to eye with the Republican party (some might call these individuals… Democrats). There’s been a string of vandalism and terrorism targeted at Tesla, which was of course founded by billionaire and now close Trump advisor Elon Musk.
While Musk is also fulfilling his duties as the CEO of SpaceX and the owner of Twitter/X, the billionaire is also heading up Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is tasked with reducing government spending, eliminating waste, and shrinking the size of government.
And now, the people who oppose Musk’s involvement in the government are striking back by burning and destroying the brand of car that Musk is associated with. On the flip side, the Republic party – who have historically learned more towards gas-powered vehicles – have been buying up Tesla cars like they are going out of style. It’s honestly an ironic heel turn from both parties, though one side is vandalizing and terrorizing, while the other is just buying… there’s a noticeable gulf.
That’s what John Rich pointed out in his most recent social media post. The country star is about as Republican as they come, and he had no problem calling out the other side of the aisle for what they are doing both to physical Teslas and the brand at large. He even called for FBI Director Kash Patel to get to work on the matter:
“When Bud Light went woke, I don’t recall Conservatives burning down convenience stores. We just stopped buying it. The left could just stop buying Teslas, but no, that’s not their style. It’s Molotov cocktails or bust.”

Hard to disagree with John Rich there, right? I mean, how can a society function when one side of the aisle throws a violent temper tantrum every time something doesn’t go their way? Boycotts and/or spending your money elsewhere is a fundamental form of protest in American society. Has been for a long time. But burning things down or violent acts of vandalism? That’s a crime… this isn’t complicated, people.
Tesla’s stock has already been tanking in recent weeks (Jimmy Kimmel happily pointed that out), and isn’t that enough? There’s no reason to get violent, and at the end of the day, the people that are keying someone else’s Tesla aren’t sticking it to Elon Musk. They are actually just creating a headache for Tesla owners that most likely didn’t buy their car because they “love Elon.” Most people, including many Liberals, bought them years ago because they believed in Tesla’s effort to limit reduce emissions and help the environment.
So congrats, the Tesla you keyed in the Erewhon parking lot probably belonged to a Democrat…
