Matthew McConaughey Stars In “NFL Conspiracy” Uber Eats Super Bowl Commercial

Matthew McConaughey

This commercial is certainly worth an, "Alright, alright, alright" review. It’s always interesting to me that companies seem to step up their game when it comes to advertising during the Super Bowl. Often times, instantly recognizable brands all of the sudden pull out all of the stops in an effort to create a memorable, lasting ad that sticks out from the rest. It all begs the question… why don’t advertisers care about their commercials this much year round? Personally, it’s the only time I’m truly looking forward to the interruption in programming, and if I’m being honest, the advertisements are often my favorite part of the “Big Game.” My only issue with modern day Super Bowl ads is that they don’t actually come out during the Super Bowl anymore. Instead, companies release teasers leading up to the “Big Game,” and some even just release their ads beforehand to try and expand on the commercial’s exposure. Uber Eats somehow managed to do both. Initially, Uber Eats teamed up with everyone’s favorite, smooth-talking actor Matthew McConaughey for a teaser advertisement, and it originally appeared they would shine a spotlight on the Chicago Bears. Or at the very least, the legend and lore of “Da Bears,” and the famous coach that will always be connected to their franchise: Mike Ditka. In the teaser you can view below, McConaughey looks into a mirror and practices saying “Da Bears” over and over again. Once he gains enough confidence in it, he exits the room and the date for the Super Bowl pops up on the screen, which led everyone to assume that we’d get to see how Matthew utilized his Bears garb and Chicago-style accent during the “Big Game.” https://twitter.com/McConaughey/status/1883942807775203772?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1883942807775203772%7Ctwgr%5E04077123d8cb393af419666996b05d3d66a88e51%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2025%2F01%2F27%2Fmatthew-mcconaughey-does-his-best-mike-ditka-in-teaser-for-ubereats-da-bears-super-bowl-commercial%2F Well folks... we don't have to wait a couple of more days until the Super Bowl. Uber Eats went ahead and dropped their entire ad ahead of the "Big Game." My guess that Matthew McConaughey would be reviving SNL's "The Super Fans" was wrong. In fact, McConaughey's Mike Ditka garb and impression is barely utilized (only for a moment when he's talking to Bears legend William "The Fridge" Perry) in the commercial Uber Eats is rolling out for the Super Bowl. The whole premise of the ad spot is that the National Football League is actually the "National Food-ball League," and everything they do is just a big conspiracy to make people hungry and eat more food. And the commercial makes a good argument. Whether they pointed out a football being called a "pigskin" to make people crave bacon, or that the NFL playing on Sundays because no one is "eating ice cream Saturdays," it all really makes you think that this conspiracy could actually have legs. And with Matthew McConaughey at the helm (along with some help from Kevin Bacon, Sean Evans, Martha Stewart, Greta Gerwig and Charli XCX), Uber Eats pulled off an incredibly memorable Super Bowl Conspiracy Commercial: https://twitter.com/McConaughey/status/1886830831563346388 Leader in the clubhouse for best Super Bowl commercial so far? I know it's early. Hell, the "Big Game" between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles hasn't even been played yet. But something tells me that this Uber Eats advertisement will be hard to beat, and social media seems to agree with me:
