![Joe Biden checks watch]()
If this is true, it's absolutely disgusting.
Of course there was a lot of controversy surrounding the disastrous withdrawal of United States military forces from Afghanistan back in 2021.
Twenty years after first going to war in Afghanistan following the 9/11 terror attacks, President Joe Biden and his administration orchestrated a withdrawal that left 13 troops dead after a suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport and billions of dollars of US military equipment left behind - equipment that promptly fell right back into the hands of terrorist organizations after the Taliban quickly toppled the US-backed government in the country.
The Biden administration received plenty of criticism for the botched withdrawal, but one of the enduring photos from that time showed the president looking at his watch while greeting the families of the fallen soldiers
During the dignified transfer of the 13 soldiers who were killed in the attack, President Biden was caught checking his watch multiple times as he stood on the tarmac in front of the Gold Star families.

At the time, the families of our fallen troops criticized Biden for his conduct during the solemn ceremony. Darin Hoover, the father of Marine Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, said that the president checked his watch after every casket was transferred:
“They would release the salute and he looked down at his watch on every last one. All 13, he looked down at his watch.”
And Mark Schmitz, father of Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, called Biden's behavior "the most disrespectful thing" he'd ever seen:
“I actually leaned into my son’s mother’s ear and I said, ‘I swear to God, if he checks his watch one more time …’
And that was only probably four times in. I couldn’t look at him anymore after that, just considering, especially, the time and why we were there. I found it to be the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever seen.”
But even now, over 3 years later, the families are continuing to speak out about Biden's behavior - and apparently, the president had to get a nap in before he could even be bothered to greet the grieving families.
Roice McCollum, the sister of Marine Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, revealed to the
Daily Mail that the families were told by a military officer that Biden was napping on Air Force One while they were waiting to meet him:
"He made us wait an extra three hours to receive the bodies of our dead family members because he couldn't pull it together."
And her claims were backed up by Darin Hoover:
"We sat in that office for what seemed like an eternity waiting on the doddering old fool."
The White House, of course, denied the families' stories:
"That claim is untrue. As President Biden said on the 4th anniversary of the tragic attack on Abbey Gate and in the letters he wrote to family members after meeting with them in Dover, ‘these 13 Americans—and the many more that were wounded—were patriots in the highest sense’ and ‘we owe them and their families a sacred debt we will never be able to fully repay, but will never cease working to fulfill.’
The President honors these families, who have given more to their nation than anyone ever could, and holds them in the highest regard."
Well there you have it, case closed, when has the White House ever lied to the American people?
The new details from that day come on the heels of a bombshell report from the Wall Street Journal that provided details surrounding Biden's declining mental state, and the efforts the administration went to shield him from others - including other key members of government.
Congressman Adam Smith, a Democrat from Washington, served as the chair of the Armed Services Committee in the House of Representatives. And he began growing concerned about what he believed were overly optimistic statements from the Biden administration on the upcoming Afghanistan withdrawal, so he attempted to speak with the president about his concerns and express his insight into the region.
But Smith said he couldn't even get through to Biden to warn him about what he saw as problems with the plan.
The Congressman said that he finally did get a call from Biden - after he criticized the administration following the withdrawal.
Biden would later called Smith to apologize after the Congressman had a tense call with Secretary of State Antony Blinken - and that call ended up being the only time the powerful Congressman spoke to the president during his entire term:
"The Biden White House was more insulated than most. I spoke with Barack Obama on a number of occasions when he was president and I wasn’t even chairman of the committee.”
Really makes you wonder who's been running our country the past four years.
