![Insanely Soft Ohio Lawmaker Gets Destroyed For Introducing A Bill To Make Flag Planting In Ohio Stadium A FELONY]()
![Michigan Ohio State]()
Reason 34,598 everyone hates Ohio...
A few weeks back, all heck broke loose when Michigan stunned then number 2 ranked Ohio State in Columbus, leading to a slew of changes in the College Football Playoff Rankings that was notable but overshadowed by the on-field brawl that took place after the clock hit zeros.
Naturally, Michigan players were fired up and celebrating the victory over their bitter rivals pretty hard, but things completely exploded when someone grabbed a Wolverines flag and a group of players planted it in the center of the "O" at midfield, which the Buckeyes players really didn't like.
It wasn't the first time an opposing player had tried to plant his team's flag at the 50. Baker Mayfield did the same after his Oklahoma Sooners knocked off the Buckeyes back in 2017.

Obviously, the team wasn't very happy about it back then, but this year, when it was Michigan attempting to plant their flag, Ohio State players decided that was enough and stormed to meet them at midfield, which
resulted in an ugly brawl that forced police to use pepper spray to break up.

We always see some pushing and shoving during games, anytime you get these juiced up monster men smashing heads for 4 quarters you're bound to get some animosity, but this was honestly one of the craziest brawls I've ever seen, and what makes it even crazier is the TV broadcast keeping the cameras rolling the entire time and showing it all live.
Both schools wound up being fined $100,000 for the incident but no players were suspended for their upcoming postseason games.
And that's all us sports fans thought would come from this. A little punishment for the schools, a lecturing of the players to not do it again, and a memory that will forever be used to hype up future match-ups of "The Game", but it seems the state of Ohio isn't ready to let this one go yet...
Ohio State Rep Introduces Anti-Flag Planting Bill
Josh Williams is a Republican state representative from Sylvania Township and just yesterday introduced the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act, which is truly one of the lamest things I've ever seen a lawmaker try to do.
You don't need to be a lawyer to understand what this soft a** politician is trying to do.
House Bill 700 reads:
"To enact section 2927.18 of the Revised Code to prohibit planting a flagpole and flag in the center of the Ohio Stadium football field on the day of a college football game and to name this act the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act."
In case that wasn't clear enough for you, a lower section lays it out again:
"Sec. 2927.18. No person shall plant a flagpole with a flag attached to it in the center of the football field at Ohio stadium of the Ohio state university on the day or a college football competition, whether before, during, or after the competition."
Have you ever seen more of a snowflake? You're going to make it a FELONY for a team to put a flag in the center of Ohio State's field? Not every school in the state, mind you, just Ohio State. I'm sure that's going to create some animosity with fans of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bowling Green, Miami, Toledo, Xavier, Kent State, and the other Ohio institutions of higher learning...
How about not losing the big game? I'm a Penn State fan and have to deal with the unending comments of "Can't win the big one" and you know what? It's true, we haven't won the big one in a long time so I and all fans of the program have to take it on the shins and keep marching forward. You think just because you're THE Ohio State that you deserve specialized legal protections from a 20 year old kid celebrating a massive win over their most deep seeded rival in all of college sports? Get out of here.
You can be against other team's planting their flag at mid-field. I get it. And nobody wants to see kids brawling on the field, but you really think trying to put a law on the books to criminalize a college kid for doing it is the right move? You think it protects your university? Sorry bud, but the only thing you're doing is making it a laughing stock and opening the door for people around the country to endlessly make jokes at your expense.
A felony to plant a flag on a football field... don't you have some important political stuff to worry about? Give me a break...
