Theo Von Explaining How Secret Service Took Over For JD Vance Interview Is Hilarious: “They Shut Down Exits Off The Interstate… I Had No Idea”

Theo Von culture

Had the house on lockdown. This year, it was fascinating to see how much podcasts, more specifically comedians, impacted the Presidential race. Of course, President-elect Donald Trump appeared on a massive episode of Joe Rogan's podcast, which now has an astounding 49 million views on Youtube, and comedian Theo Von had not only President Trump on his podcast before the election, but also now Vice President-elect JD Vance. For the interview with Trump, it seems like Theo went to where he was, but it sounds like JD Vance actually did the episode at Theo's house in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has a studio set up. Well, I guess Theo wasn't thinking about the fact that not only would Vance show up with security, obviously, but also an entire team of secret service that pretty much took over Theo's entire area and parts of the city... I mean, I know we clearly think about that when it comes to the security President, and obviously this was a very different kind of guest and interview, but hearing Theo describe it all is pretty wild. He had comedian Matt McCusker as a guest on his This Past Weekend podcast today, and told him that they had snipers on the roof of his house, in "full tactical gear," and they had put black drapes over the entire front of his house. He recalled seeing secret service everywhere, and his neighbors had no idea what was going on and couldn't get in touch with him, which made for a great story: "JD Vance showed, dude, there were snipers on the roof. Full tactical gear. I go in the ice bath, there's like secret service everywhere. They had put drapes, black drapes, in front of the house. They shut down exists off the interstate... I had no idea. Bro, my neighbor, right, I f****n' look at my phone, he's like, 'What's up? Are you __?' And he didn't put blank, just underlines, and they thought it was one of those things where like, they were sending people in... like I was taking my own life at home. Well he had sent like four messages, so at that point, it was already 11. I had slept in, I was up until, probably 3AM, just getting my questions ready, so I was like, I have to make sure I sleep. And he's like, 'Dude, we were so scared.' 'Cuz they thought they were repelling into the home." Maybe should have sent out quick text or something to everyone that lives in the houses around you, Theo... But then again, he clearly didn't think about Vance having security of this magnitude with him, especially because he hadn't even been elected at that point, but I can't imagine what it was like later for Theo, realizing they shut down entire exits near his house because a VP candidate was coming over. It had to have felt like he was living in an alternate reality or something... and as far as his neighbors go, I can only imagine what they were thinking, especially when they finally figured out what was really going on. You can listen to Theo talk about it himself below, it's hilarious:
