Had to see that one coming.
Bill Belichick set the internet on fire earlier this year when it was reported that the 72-year old former coach of the New England Patriots was in a relationship with a new woman after his split from his longtime partner Linda Holliday.
Well, it wasn't so much that he was in a new relationship, but the age of his new partner.
The coach's new girlfriend is 24-year old Jordon Hudson, a former competitive cheerleader...and if you're struggling with the math, that makes Belichick 48 years older than his new romantic partner. For some context, Belichick became head coach of the Patriots in 2000 - the year Hudson was born.
Yeah, he could be her grandpa.
But hey, who am I to judge someone else's relationship? Especially when the internet is there to do it for me.
The jokes quickly began flying after it came to light that Belichick was robbing the cradle with his latest love interest, who he reportedly met on a flight in 2021 where they exchanged information and kept in contact - discussing things like her school work and cheerleading routines. It's even been reported that the couple are
headed towards marriage, which definitely has nothing to do with his bank account.
Of course now that Belichick is out of coaching the two have plenty of time to spend together - and that apparently includes coming up with couples costumes for Halloween.
Hudson posted a photo of herself and Belichick dressed up yesterday in their Halloween costume, with the former coach dressed as a fisherman and the cheerleader laying on the beach dressed as a mermaid.

And remember when I said the internet was there to judge someone else's relationship for me? Well they didn't disappoint, because people had plenty to say about this one:

Hey, as long as they're happy, who are we to judge. Belichick seems to be living his best life in retirement: I mean, we've definitely seen him smile more than he ever did on the sidelines.
But do we really think he's going to go back to coaching? I mean, at this point, would you?
