![Donald Trump Mark Cuban]()
Safe to say there's no love lost between these two.
As we get closer and closer to the 2024 presidential election, the war of words has been heating up between former President Donald Trump, and his fellow billionaire Mark Cuban.
The
Shark Tank star and former owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks has been front and center criticizing the GOP presidential candidate over the past few days, and created some controversy with an appearance on
The View today when he took a shot at the women in Trump's orbit:
"Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever. It's just that simple."

The comments drew quite a bit of backlash from conservative women, including many who worked for Trump during his first administration like former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany:

Cuban later attempted to clarify that his insulting comments were meant to be a shot at Donald Trump.

But it's not the first time the two have gone after each other. Though Cuban initially said he would consider serving as Trump's running mate back in 2016, it turns out their "feud" actually goes back decades.
During a 2006 interview with David Letterman, Cuban discussed his first time meeting Trump, during a Super Bowl party at Mar-A-Lago. It was around the time that Cuban's first company, Broadcast.com, had gone public back in 1998 - but Trump didn't recognize the CEO:
"He goes, you know what, someday you'll be able to sit up there with the rich people, and walks off."

Well it sounds like Cuban took that personally. And a letter that Trump sent to Cuban back in 2004 didn't exactly help their icy relationship.
Cuban had a short-lived reality show called
The Benefactor, in which 16 contestants attempted to win $1 million from the billionaire. It premiered around the same time that Trump's show
The Apprentice debuted, but Cuban's show only lasted one season.
After
The Benefactor was cancelled, Trump sent Cuban a letter expressing his...condolences for the short-lived television show. And, well, it was classic Trump:
"Dear Mark:
I am truly sorry to hear that your show has been cancelled for lack of ratings. When I initially called you to congratulate you on The Benefactor - little did you or I realize how disastrous and embarrassing it would turn out to be for you.
If you ever decide to do another show, please call me and I will be happy to lend a helping hand."

Gotta admit, that's pretty funny.
Now, I'm not sure if that's the reason Cuban's not a fan of Trump. It sounds like there was some bad blood between them already, and the letter was just Trump twisting the knife.
But regardless, it's clear that these two don't like each other. And back in 2014, Trump even took a shot at Cuban for his multiple failed attempts to buy an MLB team:
"Major League Baseball was really smart when they wouldn't let Mark Cuban buy a team. Was it his financials or the fact that he's an asshole?"

Well fast forward to the 2024 election, and Cuban has been one of the most vocal opponents of Trump these past few weeks. And the former president has taken notice, and has been taking shots at Cuban - and his golf game:

After his latest comments on Trump not surrounding himself with "strong, intelligent women," Trump issued a lengthy response to Cuban on Twitter, once again pointing out that Cuban has "no clubhead speed."
"Mark Cuban, a really dumb guy, who thinks he’s “hot stuff” but he’s absolutely nothing, is now out there saying that I don’t surround myself with strong women. Actually, he is very wrong, I surround myself with the strongest of women - With the understanding that ALL women are great, whether strong or not strong.
This guy is such a fool, he’s constantly on Television being critical, and only for the reason that I tuned him out completely while President because he called incessantly. I told him, very pointedly, “Look Mark, I’ve got a lot of things to do, I just can’t be taking so many pointless calls from you.”
In any event, that affected him greatly, because he’s a very insecure guy, and a MAJOR LOSER, always has been and always will be! Nobody likes him, nobody respects him, and he’s unattractive both inside and out! He should go back to talk about the person he was forced to support, because I didn’t want it, Lyin’ Kamala Harris. Also, he’s got no clubhead speed!
I may, in fact, be surrounded by the strongest women in the World, including Heads of Countries, who make Mark look like a “baby!” All strong women, and women in general, should be very angry about this weak man’s statement."

Doesn't sound like Cuban is going to have a place in Trump's administration if he wins on Tuesday.
