The best seats at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Many may not know this, but there's actually a building of condos that overlook the speedway, The First Turn Condos building which was built in 1984, in addition to a second, 12-unit condo phase that was completed in 1991 called First Turn Tower.
Because they're prime real estate and there aren't many of them (just 40 exist between the two buildings), you can imagine that they're pretty hard to come by. And just in time for the race this weekend in Concord, two of them just went on the market... but they're gonna cost you.
One is listed for $535,000 and one is going for $575,000. Each unit is about 1,100 square feet, and includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Listing agent Kristen Bernard of Keller Williams SouthPark says the $535,000 unit has been owned by two families from Charlotte for the past 40 years, and according to the
Charlotte Business Journal, was purchased by the original owners for $130,000 in 1984.
Bernard says they have simply outgrown it, and just don't use the condos as much anymore:
"As for why they are selling, their families have grown, some moved away, and they don't use as often as they did. Also, they used it a lot for client entertainment and haven't utilized it over the years as they once did.
Professionally, they had a business opportunity arise and would like to use proceeds to invest in this opportunity. Also, they want to share the fun and uniqueness of this condo with a new buyer who will use it the way it should be and who will enjoy/share it with family/friends/clients."
The building has two dedicated parking spaces and secure lobby, and of course, it comes with five tickets for race day that provide access to the track, and I can only imagine what an experience that would be getting to go on the track and then go watch the race in the comfort of your own home.
Boston Reid of Compass is the listing the other $575,000 unit at First Turn Condos.
While these condos were the first of their kind, and do have residents that live in them year-round, there are similar condos at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth and at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
If you have a cool half a million dollars laying around, you can have the best seat in the house this weekend. Take a look at some of the pictures from the listing, it's a pretty cool view:
