Steelers Fan Pounds Beer Under A Poncho During Sunday Night Football Lightning Delay

Steelers fan

Mother Nature is no match for this dedicated tippler. Pittsburgh Steelers fans are very hardcore, as they should be. They reside in a gritty city, with a gritty and gratuitously accomplished franchise history. Or at least I think that's how I think all but three or so fan bases around the NFL feel about the Steelers' perpetual good fortune. Not a stunner, then, to see a Steelers fan braving the elements and life and limb from a lighting strike to chill in the stands while inclement weather delayed kickoff. https://twitter.com/awfulannouncing/status/1843082094966431979 https://twitter.com/Alex_Kozora/status/1843092987699703984 In the NFL, you make your own luck really. That's how Mike Tomlin has endured all these years as head coach and never once posted a losing record in a single season. That's how you get dudes like this guy to ride with you till they die. The most important part of this footage, though? Man's commitment to enjoying an ice cold brew regardless of the circumstances. https://twitter.com/sharpfootball/status/1843092829624782903 His inner monologue ran something like, "This is prime time. Sunday Night Football. The Dallas Cowboys are coming to town. A little downpour and long-shot-but-assuredly-life-threatening lightning ain't gonna keep me down." I know the Cowboys are "America's Team." You'd never catch any 'Boys fan going through the wringer like this. And that's because Dallas is a glitzy, glamorous brand and the most valuable franchise in professional sports. They have an owner in Jerry Jones who cares more about hog size and other trivial matters than, you know, actual winning. We'll see how it all plays out on the field tonight whenever this weather stops. It could be really ugly and low-scoring, though, so NBC would be best served to check in on our beer-drinking fella every so often to see how he's faring. You gotta pace yourself drinking at a sporting event. The kickoff delay didn't even cause the Steelers fan to break stride in his planned drinking routine. There's a man who's prepared and has a game plan! Fingers crossed that we'll witness whether he'll need to make any halftime adjustments.
