Wandale Right giants locker room

Come on, Brian Daboll — lighten up a little! I'm obviously poking a little fun at the New York Giants head coach, because based on the tone he used to tell wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson to knock off his Instagram live feed, it might not have been super serious. Then again, Daboll is reportedly a raving lunatic behind the scenes to his fellow coaches, to the point where ex-defensive coordinator Wink Martindale skipped town the first chance he had. You can tell by Wan'Dale's hilarious reaction that he was fearing his coach's wrath a bit. https://twitter.com/mysportsupdate/status/1843077209793372375 "Oh no sir!" Robinson said like a kid whose father was disappointed in some trivial thing he did, just before immediately cutting the feed. Maybe it's an attempted lesson in humility on Daboll's part about leaving the gloating of victory within the sanctity of the locker room. With all the controversy around media locker room access, the thinking might've been to not have a player posting on social media from the locker room. I don't know... At least one person on Twitter sees that angle. Thanks, Brentley Adams. https://twitter.com/BrentleyAdams/status/1843078197401047396 Locker room etiquette/social media use aside, Wan'Dale's face was priceless and well worth Daboll calling him out. https://twitter.com/darwinsburner/status/1843077413967917561 Another possibility: Daboll doesn't want his guys getting too cocky. Yes, they just won 29-20 at Seattle, thanks in large part to a blocked field goal that would've tied the game for the Seahawks with about a minute remaining. However, the G-Men are still 2-3, and they're hitting the Sunday Night Football stage next weekend to take on a wildly desperate 1-4 Bengals team. Cincinnati's defense is an absolute sieve at this point, so I could see how New York's players would be ecstatic about stealing one in Seattle, and eager for the opportunity to get to .500 against the lowly Bungles. Daboll's been around the block enough to know that such hubris is a recipe for a disastrous letdown. And he knows the margins in the NFL are so slim. A couple more breaks in the Seahawks' favor, and the Giants are staring down the barrel of 1-4 with Daboll's job security very much in doubt. So I see where Daboll is coming from, but still, his reprimand of Robinson is a little old-school for my taste. Just enjoy the moment, dawg. Let the players get a little loose. https://twitter.com/TerpRecruiting/status/1843077380367368208 If I were in there, I'd be hamming it up with everyone else, especially after a game-clinching play as crazy as what had just happened. https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1843068270930522128
