“What Are You Hiding For?”– Stephen A. Smith Calls Out Kamala Harris For Ducking Interviews Since Becoming The Democratic Nominee For President

Stephen A Smith

Sports media personality Stephen A. Smith calling it like it is. He's been known to do that, and has actually made one hell of a career doing so. The longtime ESPN employee has never shied away from telling the people how he really feels, and thanks to his non-ESPN program, The Stephen A. Smith Show, he's been able to expand some takes that are outside of the sports world. Thus, politics occasionally come up. It's on his personal show where he expounds his political beliefs, and often calls out both sides of the aisle for their shortcomings. Stephen A. Smith might be labeled as left-leaning, but you have to give credit where credit is due - he calls out people whether they are republican or democrat. If you need some evidence of that, look no further than one of his latest rants about Kamala Harris. The current vice president assumed the role as the democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential election when current president Joe Biden stepped aside last month. I won't take the time to get into all of that, but Smith wanted to point out that since that transition, Kamala Harris has not made herself available to the media all that much - if at all. Stephen A. suggests that she's hiding in plain sight: "Joe Biden stepped aside as the presumptive democratic nominee on July 21st. I'm looking at my calendar because I just want to make sure. July 21st was a Sunday... we've had one week, two week, three weeks since Joe Biden stepped aside. The only damn place we've seen Kamala Harris is at pep rallies. What's up? Somebody's got to say something. And it can't just be the conservatives. Right is right. I'm talking to my sister here. You're running for the presidency of the United States of America... you've got my vote. You're running for the presidency of the United States of America. What are you hiding for?" Smith's point appears to be accurate. Outside of appearances at scheduled, very-much-controlled rallies, Harris has not really been available. You'd think that a presidential candidate, especially one who has entered into the race late, would try to be anywhere and everywhere. Stephen A. thinks her media absence is intentional, and claims that it's entirely fair for her opponents to call her out for it: "You can't be running for the presidency of the United States (and not have) one single press conference, not one single one-on-one sit down interview with somebody who gets to question you about the questions that we have. That's not fair. And if you are a conservative and you're out there lambasting her for it and ridiculing her for it... it is perfectly within your right to do so.  All of you anti-conservatives out there, shut the hell up. That's a valid point. It ain't valid to bring up her blackness or her Indian heritage and things of that nature. That's nonsense. But to ask her about her record, because she is attached to the Biden record is definitely apropos. Especially when you were bragging about the record. We talked about Biden being a transformative president... well stand on it then!" Hearing him speak on that issue - even with him saying he'll likely vote for Harris - it's just nice for someone to be able to call out both sides of aisle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN6kwrgNVio
