![CJ Stroud]()
The Houston Texans not only have a good quarterback in CJ Stroud - they've also got a great role model.
Professional athletes are often idolized, but Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud is letting these fans know to pump the brakes a bit. The young QB was
outspoken about his faith during his phenomenal rookie season last year, which won him the Offensive Rookie of the Year award at the NFL's end-of-season awards ceremony. Stroud was both walking the walk and the talking the talk throughout his breakout season - even when an
excerpt of his interview thanking God was omitted from a clip NBC shared.
And that appears to be continuing as Stroud heads into his sophomore season with a lot more expectations than he had last year. It wouldn't be out of the norm for Houston fans to already crown him as the savior of the Texans, and it appears one fan has done just that with a poster that read "In CJ We Trust" with Stroud's head photoshopped onto Jesus' body.
It's probably just a little joke, but when it was held up by a fan as Stroud walked past, the young QB was stopped right in his tracks. From the looks of the video, Stroud was shaking his head in disbelief at the poster. Not that he was entirely upset by it, but as he said himself to the fan:
"You ain't gotta do all that, dog."
CJ still took a moment to autograph the poster, but made sure to leave a message for the man that was holding it up. As you'll see in the clip below, Stroud left a message saying, "Trust God!" on the poster, seemingly appreciating the image while also encouraging the Texans fan to put his faith in something much bigger than football.
