![Tim Elter]()
A full moon in broad daylight. Paris is touted as the most romantic city in the world, so I'm sure this is far from the first time a bare buttocks has been exposed in public without cover of darkness. Sadly, this wasn't a particularly sultry occasion for such things for Germany's Tim Elter.
The Olympic surfer was competing in the first heat on Saturday for the men's shortboard competition, and it didn't go so well. Among the three surfers in that heat, Elter finished last in part because he had an incident of sorts that literally knocked his shorts off.

I'd assume this was the result of a wipe-out but there's no raw footage to confirm. Anyway, thank goodness for
NBC Sports' explanation on surfing in the Olympics. It's still very new, having debuted at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games. Although Elter had a rough day at the office on the heels of years of training, he'll get a shot at redemption in the second round. The winners of each heat get a bye of sorts into the third round of the event, which cuts the field of medal hopefuls down to 16. From there, it's essentially a bunch of mano-a-mano matchups until a gold medalist emerges.
Thus, there is hope yet for Elter to totally redeem himself. I hope he does.
Here's my main takeaway from this wardrobe malfunction, though. If I were Tim Elter, I wouldn't mind mooning any and all surfing viewers. He works hard on that arse and his surfing craft for a once-in-four-years shot at the Olympics. Other than perhaps a select number of lucky intimate partners dwelling in the
six-digit condom-supplied Olympic Village, who else is going to see the payoff from that grind?
OK but I'm sure Elter doesn't want to see his caboose exploited
too much for our twisted entertainment, so how about gassing him up a little bit on the way out? Let's go with a much more flattering action shot where Elter is fully clothed, followed by his ecstatic reaction after qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
