![John Rahm]()
Certain sloshed spectators at the LIV Golf UK tournament in London took the fledgling league's "golf but louder" slogan a little too literally for Jon Rahm's liking. The two-time major champ opened Saturday's second round with a two-stroke advantage before tumbling down the leaderboard in what continues to be a frustrating season.
Having to back off your shot once is bad enough for a professional golfer. Having to do it twice, and then failing to hit your pitch shot over a false front on the green, is only going to exacerbate tensions. Rahm's caddie was so incensed by the fan conduct that he resorted to profanity to try to get them in line.

I always thought crowds across the pond were pleasant. Acts like these are traditionally only par for the course for Americans,
in particular at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The only time you'll ever hear European galleries go off in such fashion is at the Ryder Cup, where it's very much OK. But to distract a superstar like Rahm twice before he can even hit a shot? That's crossing the line even at a Ryder Cup.
Rahmbo was probably the most momentous LIV Golf defector in the sport, because he was outspoken against them to start, and even with the immense nine-figure contract he got for the move, he seems kind of miserable on the course. The dude is among the most fiery competitors in the sport. I doubt no-cut 54-hole tournaments are scratching that competitive itch to Rahm's satisfaction.
Then having to contend with blaring music and unruly patrons on top of all those legacy-based ramifications? Woof. Then later on, he finds the bunker on a tee shot at the par-3 17th hole, and fans roar when he blows off some steam afterwards:

This whole scene is putting that "money can't buy happiness" cliché to the ultimate test. I'm sure Jon Rahm is just fine with his life. He set up his family for generations by signing that LIV deal. In terms of the pure golf side of it, though? Feel like he's down bad. All the more reason for a LIV-PGA Tour alliance sooner rather than later. Come on, fellas. Can't we all just get along? This is breaking Rahmbo's spirit!
Maybe the Summer Olympics can get Rahm back on track and locked in on something really special to play for. He'll represent Spain when the men's stroke play event tees off this coming Thursday. Fun fact: Rahm is the highest-paid Olympian, eclipsing LeBron James by over $80 million.
