"I'm in love with a stripper..."
Sorry, after reading this story I can't get that T-Pain song out of my head.
I've never been a big strip club guy, but it seems like you should know that those girls up there dancing for you are not, in fact, going to fall in love with you. It's a business transaction for them, as much as you may think you have a connection with them. You're just a client and a wallet, no matter how special they make you feel.
But apparently one Arkansas man didn't get the memo.
Fred Brunner is suing a Las Vegas stripper for $38 MILLION after he found out that, surprisingly, they weren't in an exclusive relationship after all. (Don't you hate it when that happens?)
According to the
lawsuit, Brunner first went to the strip club in 2014 while going through a divorce. And while he was there, he met the dancer and formed what he thought was a romantic relationship with her.
I feel like he was thinking with his...well never mind.
Brunner reportedly began buying expensive gifts, and even a house, for the stripper, after she "learned Brunner was far wealthier than her normal patrons — wealthy enough to change her life."
The man began taking the stripper on trips, and would even send her five figures a month, all while apparently thinking they were in a relationship. But as it turns out, she actually had a boyfriend the whole time.
Tough scene.
Brunner's family owns Brunner & Lay Inc., a manufacturing company in Arkansas that makes heavy bits used in mining and excavation projects, and has plants in several countries around the world. So altogether, the wealthy businessman says that the stripper collected over $3 million from him - and even gave some of it to her boyfriend.
Men, I feel like this is a cautionary tale: No matter how good they make you feel, the stripper doesn't care about you.
Unfortunately Brunner had to learn that lesson the hard way, so now he's suing the stripper for $38 million in compensation and punitive damages for making him think that they were in an exclusive relationship.
I mean, it sounds like she was just really good at her job...
