Bubba Wallace Alex Bowman

Think he's still upset about that one... Alex Bowman took home the trophy in the second NASCAR Cup Series race on the Chicago street course, and it was...well, almost as bizarre as the first one. The start of the race was delayed due to protestors handcuffing themselves on top of a fence, and as cars were getting ready to roll off the rains came and forced teams to choose between switching to wet weather tires or sticking with the slick racing tires despite the damp conditions. Then less than halfway into the race, the rains came once again, causing the race to be red flagged as NASCAR worked to remove the standing water from the track. When they got back to green, NASCAR announced that the race would be over at 8:20 PM, regardless of how many laps were remaining. Oh, and then there were all the wrecks. Obviously racing on a tight street course presents its own challenges, but when you throw in a wet track, the added challenge of the slick paint on the roads (which drivers seemed to agree presented a real challenge) and teams on a variety of tire strategies...well, it seemed like it was more about who could survive to the end of the race. During stage 2 of the race, before the red flag, Bowman got into Bubba Wallace and sent the #23 car spinning, causing significant damage to Bubba's car and ending any chance he had of winning in Chicago. https://twitter.com/NASCAR/status/1810077042290884964 And during the rain delay, Bowman apologized to Bubba and said that he simply got into the corner too hard, admitting that he felt terrible for ruining Bubba's day. Well apparently Bubba wasn't ready to accept the apology just yet... After the checkered flag, Bubba decided to show his displeasure to the race winner by door slamming Bowman into the wall as the #48 was celebrating his win. https://twitter.com/NASCARonNBC/status/1810123959809020392 Yikes... Bowman once again apologized to Bubba during his interview immediately after getting out of the car, but it seems like it's going to take a little more for Bubba to forget this one. https://twitter.com/NASCAR/status/1810128644372623387
