College World Series

The finale of the College World Series is finally here. After weeks of exciting, high-level baseball (and thousands of jello shots), the college baseball season finally culminates with this matchup between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas A&M Aggies. After splitting the first two games of the three-game series, the Vols and the Aggies clash tonight for the College World Series title. As far as stakes are concerned, they've never been higher: https://twitter.com/SECNetwork/status/1805344436525596766 The joyous thing about sports, or the not-so-joyous thing, is that there can only be one winner. Besides boring soccer matches that end in draws sometimes, games are played so that a winner can be crowned. Tonight, either Tennessee or Texas A&M will go down in the history books as 2024 champions. There aren't many win-win scenarios going into tonight, that is unless you have some money on one team or the other and they ultimately pull it off. However, there's one very interesting storyline that revealed itself in game two of the College World Series, and that's the fact that Tennessee starting pitcher Drew Beam's girlfriend goes to Texas A&M. Halle Hutchins just might be in a win-win scenario: https://twitter.com/SECUnfiltered/status/1804952568025759773 Hutchins and Beam have been together since 2022. They've managed to make their relationship last even as they've battled long distance for the entirety of their time together. Halle doesn't just attend Texas A&M. Her family has a lot invested in the university, as her father Jason Hutchins is the director of operations in Aggieland, and her brother is a student assistant coach. Halle even controls the social media account for the Texas A&M team, as her mother revealed on X (formerly Twitter): So Halle either watches her boyfriend and his team win the College World Series tonight, or she gets to celebrate with her family if Texas A&M pulls it out after dropping game two (which Beam pitched in). If that's not the definition of a win-win scenario, I don't know what is. Hutchins herself even responded to a question that was posted online about who she was rooting for in the championship conclusion of the college baseball season: Sounds like she's rooting for Texas A&M...
