The only thing that can seemingly stop
The Pat McAfee Show from its continued explosion in popularity is an unforeseen technical difficulty. During Thursday's latest episode, the eponymous host had best-selling author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr on for an in-studio interview. Alas, the dialogue was cut short for a time due to a power blackout.
Apparently the blackout might've had something to do with McAfee's ties to WWE and the pro wrestling team The Wyatt Sicks, headlined by Uncle Howdy.

WWE drama/beef aside, Carr's lengthy segment was compelling TV to say the least. His debut novel,
The Terminal List, was adapted into a TV series by Amazon, starring Chris Pratt. Not a bad start to the ol' authoring career — having your first published piece optioned for a live-action production!

In addition to saying he has two other unannounced projects in the works, Carr spoke about his upcoming book, which will be the first in a new series inspired by military knowledge he accumulated
after he'd already served.

Then of course, it never hurts the vibes on set to take a swig of whiskey, although even a mere shot of 125 proof spirits might send me to the deck, or fastened to my chair until the segment was over.

Carr used to be a Navy SEAL sniper, and nowadays when it comes to firearms, as you can hear in the start of the clip above, he's interested in all the latest weaponry so that he can keep his fictional work on the cutting edge of verisimilitude.
We'll see if this blackout beef spins into a WWE narrative whenever McAfee cameos there next. It's fun to see him ham it up at those events. I'm sure the wrestlers who've been on the pro circuit grind for their whole careers genuinely feel a certain type of way about McAfee and other celebs getting to pull up for splashy appearances. That only adds to the forever-extending yarn of reality TV that is professional wrestling. Perhaps
if McAfee indeed doesn't return to ESPN's College GameDay show, his packed schedule will open up for more appearances in the ring.
As for Jack Carr's latest novel,
Red Sky Mourning just released a matter of days ago. It's already the
seventh novel in
The Terminal List series, which first came out in 2018. Safe to say Carr's required, relentless work ethic from the military translated to writing very well. The man is prolific, and it sure sounds like he won't slow down any time soon.
