![Grimace New York Mets]()
Did somebody say McDonald's?
Most people don't exactly think of the Golden Arches as a symbol of elite sports performance. But their mascot Grimace just may be the good luck charm that the New York Mets needed...
The fat purple blob threw out the first pitch of the Mets game at Citi Field against the Miami Marlins back on June 12, and since then the team has been unstoppable.

In the Grimace game, the Mets took down the Marlins 10-4, after losing 4-2 the night before. In fact, before Grimace took the mound, the Mets were sitting at 28-37.
But since then, they've strung together some impressive performances during their longest winning streak of the season.
This past Sunday, they took down the San Diego Padres 11-6. Then just yesterday, when the Mets traveled to Globe Life Field to take on the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers, the bats erupted once again in a 14-2 beatdown.
Is Grimace the good luck charm?

It's sure looking like it, considering the Mets are 6-0 since his first pitch. And fans are all-in on using the McDonald's mascot to their advantage:

Even the team is embracing Grimace for helping turn the season around:

I'll be honest, I don't even know what Grimace really does. I mean, Ronald McDonald is the mascot and the face of McDonald's, the Hamburglar is the villain who tries to steal all the hamburgers...but what's Grimace?
Well whatever he is, I'm glad he's finally getting his time to shine - and Mets fans are too.
