![Racoon hill fight]()
A little Father's Day golf with the fellas never hurt anyone. Actually in this case, it totally did. This doesn't appear to be a dads n' sons duke fest, but rather a spat between two different groups of golfers over either slow play, hitting into one another, or some other such trivial matter in the grand scheme of things.
Yes, you want to call somebody out if they break general golf etiquette, especially if it happens more than once. But to resort to full-on violence? I feel like such a thing can only happen if there are plenty of cart beers/seltzers involved. Whatever the case, what a freaking scene captured by this brave cameraman:

It's hard to even tell who's on what team here. I love how a couple of the dudes scuttle off to the side, making a few barely-visible hand gestures while the other four keep wailing away, and the proceeded to jump right back into the action where fits are flying everywhere.
This is the classic sloppy fight with terrible form. Straight-up rage and anger flying off the handle with wild, probably-inebriated swings and I don't mean the pure golfing type. But I will say, damn, a lot of these gents really connected on some beauts. I can't believe all these guys appear to be conscious by the end of the 40-some-odd seconds of footage we were privileged to witness. Some of those hits would've almost certainly knocked me out cold.
Right toward the end, one of the guys has somebody pinned to the ground beneath his knees and totally doesn't mind his surroundings. He then proceeds to take a pretty brutal, albeit glancing blow of a left hook right to the side of his face.
There were so many momentum shifts in such a short span of time. Again, I struggle to make sense of what just happened, or who is fighting who, much less the root cause of the brawl in the first place. I just feel bad that these golf lovers probably couldn't get the maximum enjoyment possible out of a major championship Sunday, where
Bryson DeChambeau won his second U.S. Open in such epic fashion.
Just a tough look for all involved. I wonder if the police got involved, or if the lads simply cut their losses and carried on with their lives. This medley of batteries and assaults look like murder compared to
what Scottie Scheffler did to Detective Gillis.
