Lane Kiffin Roasts Eliah Drinkwitz’s Corny Recruiting Video, But Mizzou Coach Has “No Shame” Rocking Out To Creed

Lane Kiffin doesn't miss a chance to get shots in at an opposing SEC head coach who he thinks is trying a little too hard to land some of the nation's top recruits. The Ole Miss boss has resorted to such tactics as tempting prospective transfers about the presence of sorority girls in Oxford, but he apparently draws a thick line at coaches dancing with potential players. Eliah Drinkwitz has done a commendable job of rebuilding Missouri's football program since taking over amid immediate adversity in 2020. The Tigers went 11-2 last season to match the Rebels, and finished at eighth in the country in the final national rankings — just one spot ahead of Ole Miss. My theory is that Kiffin is just jealous he doesn't look as smooth with a classic six-string in his hand as Drinkwitz does here: https://twitter.com/OkieFBfan/status/1800722695841300537 Why else would he deem Drinkwitz's video even worse than the abomination that was Brian Kelly's dance with Danny Lewis Jr? https://twitter.com/CoachDrinkwitz/status/1800896121432412353 Good on Drinkwitz for standing on business, having zero shame about what he did, and for gassing up Creed, not to mention calling Kiffin "bro." This stunt surely has Kirk Cousins and the Texas Rangers swelling with pride. For the record, I think Kelly's video is worse — especially since Kelly wound up spurning LSU in favor of playing for Nick Saban at Alabama. https://twitter.com/DannyLewis2022/status/1487209885385347081 https://twitter.com/Lane_Kiffin/status/1487239003690700802 You can clearly see that Kiffin is just having a little bit of fun with both Kelly and Drinkwitz in his very public social media interactions. Nevertheless, I love anything that adds fuel to the fire in the most competitive, elite conference in the country. The SEC is all the more intriguing this year now that Texas and Oklahoma are joining the fold. With the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff, we could easily see the SEC represent half the teams in that field — or five at the very least between Mizzou, Ole Miss, Texas, Georgia, and Alabama. I'd give LSU, Tennessee and even Oklahoma outside chances of making it in, too. It'll just be hard for Kelly and Co. to compensate for the loss of Heisman Trophy winner/Commanders No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels. All the NIL money and activity on the transfer portal will only intensify the recruiting battles between all these SEC powers. If you ask me, Drinkwitz is just rolling up his sleeves and doing whatever it takes to maximize his influence as head coach. Kiffin is so outgoing and interesting. He should lean into weird, corny stuff like this if anything. Here's the full video as well: https://twitter.com/Henry77Fenuku/status/1800216165249429644
