![Deshaun Watson]()
Sometimes the jokes just write themselves.
The NFL season starts in 86 days - for those that are keeping track. Though we are still months away from a pigskin being hurled in the air for a touchdown, that hasn't stopped NFL teams from getting their fan bases hyped up. The Cleveland Browns took to social media this week to show off their "QB 1" Deshaun Watson, who hasn't exactly lived up to the hype since they traded for him in March of 2022.
Obviously, a lot of that has had to do with the off-field issues that Watson has carried with him after dozens of sexual misconduct and assault allegations came to light in 2021. The former Clemson standout's NFL career has been basically derailed ever since then, and adding in an 11-game suspension and a myriad of serious injuries here and there, the Watson experiment hasn't exactly worked out for the Cleveland Browns.
But all of that hasn't stopped them from proudly sharing that Deshaun Watson is their starting quarterback. They posted a promotional video of Watson sitting on an orange bench surrounded by concrete walls in full uniform... and I just don't see how their social media didn't see that as somewhat of a problem.
With all of the allegations he faced, and still faces, putting Watson anywhere close to a setting that resembles a jail is a bad idea:

I'm sure you can see what the Cleveland Browns were going for, right?
They were trying to capture the toughness and grit that comes with being a member of the "Dawg Pound." But instead, they basically invited themselves right into the middle of a social media frenzy as those online pointed out the jail-like setting in which Watson posed:
