This is absolute gold. Republican Congressman John Rose, who serves the sixth district of Tennessee in the House of Representatives, thought he was getting a shining moment to monologue about how wronged Donald Trump was by the justice system. But nope, Rep. Say what you will about Rep. Rose as a politician. Google tells me he has only a 1.8/5 star rating from 18 constituent reviews. Not the best approval rating. What I can approve of is his wholesomely mischievous little guy being allowed on camera. Rep. Rose's son is a star in the making, and if we're being honest, he captured the essence of how many of us feel about the American political scene these days. It's so funny how any given grown adult can get all high horse-y or soapbox-y — we all do a little bit of that on occasion, no? — only to be undercut in side-splitting fashion by a jovial child who reminds us how silly and self-serious we too often are. Maybe Rep. Rose can get a few more higher-end Google reviews off of this stunt. Intended consequence or not, what a brilliant low-key ploy by Rep. Rose to boost his approval rating.
