Cole Hauser Says New Yellowstone Spinoff Series Will NOT Be Titled “Dutton Ranch”

The Taylor Sheridan Yellowstone universe is growing faster than you can possibly imagine, and once again, it seems like he’ll be the busiest man in Hollywood, well… more like the busiest man in Texas and Montana, this year. Tulsa King Season 3 is coming in September, then Mayor Kingstown Season 4 in October, and last year’s smash hit, Landman, will return for Season 2 in November. And that’s not even the Yellowstone stuff.

We know Sheridan’s Yellowstone modern day spinoff series, The Madison, is set to premiere sometime this year, and he has THREE more additional spinoffs that have already been green-lit on the schedule for the next year and a half. In a recent earnings call, Chris McCarthy, the Co-CEO of Paramount Global, revealed:

“The momentum will continue as we expand the franchise with three new series, starting with the ‘Dutton Ranch,’ which will premiere globally in Q4. That’s followed by the franchise’s first procedural, ‘The Marshals,’ premiering on CBS, and next day on Paramount+ globally starting in Q1 of twenty twenty six. And later next year, the anthology series will continue with the next chapter, ‘1944.’”

The highly-anticipated spinoff series focused on Rip and Beth has the working title “Dutton Ranch,” and but according to Rip Wheeler himself, Mr. Cole Hauser, that’s not the title they’ll be using. Of course, it’s common for projects to have a “working title” before they get started. Sometimes it’s the actual title they’re considering, sometimes it’s just a general placeholder and sometimes it’s straight deception to keep the movie a secret. “Dutton Ranch” seems like a placeholder, but most Taylor Sheridan shows in the past have been pretty close to (sometimes exactly the same) the working titles when the official name is launched.

According to Fox News, who chatted with Hauser at the PBR Finals in Arlington, Texas, the show will NOT be titled Dutton Ranch.

“Well, first of all, it’s not ‘Dutton Ranch. That’s not the name of it.”

Thank God… I mean, you’d think they’d be able to come up with something a little more creative than that. Plus, the sold the iconic Yellowstone Dutton Ranch at the end of the series. It wouldn’t even really make sense to set up shop on that little ranch they purchased and call it the same thing, named after a multi-generational monolith in the Paradise Valley that was just toppled. I mean, it’s Beth’s name I suppose… but seems like a fresh start is in order, right?

Well, sounds like that’ll be the case.

Hauser continued to say that fans can expect the same energy and effort that we’ve all come to know and love from him and Kelly in Yellowstone:

“We can expect the same that we’ve been doing for the last seven years. Kelly and I going and working our ** off trying to create something special.”

And while we don’t know what the title will end up being, they tend to change a lot in the Yellowstone world, we know that it will be coming sometime in Q4, I’d venture to guess November because that’s when the past three season of Yellowstone did. Get excited.

Also, Sheridan’s deal with Paramount isn’t up for a couple more years so whether he sticks with Paramount remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure… everybody in Hollywood is gonna be throwing a big bag of money at him to try and lure him away from Paramount. And they just might be successful… stay tuned.
