Former ESPN Host Pablo Torre Says There’s A “Real Chance” Bill Belichick Does Not Coach A Regular Season Football Game At UNC

Tensions are rising.

With headlines continuing to dominate mainstream media surrounding Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, sports professionals believe there is a possibility that he might not even make it to the UNC football season as the head coach. Former ESPN personality Pablo Torre spoke on The Domonique Foxworth Show, noting that he thinks there is a very “real chance” that Belichick does not make it to week one.

“The reason I say that is because even before the Jordon Hudson thing became as public, even before it went from messy backstage to now, obviously messy everywhere, the date that matters the most is June 1.”

June 1st is an important date because that is when Belichick’s buyout clause goes from $10 million to $1 million should he choose to bail on the Tarheels. Given the constant controversy surrounding his relationship, this breakup has become more realistic by the day. The topic reared its head in an ugly way after the viral CBS interview, where it became apparent to the public that Hudson is calling the shots behind the scenes.

Torre goes on to say:

“The question everybody is asking is, are things so dysfunctional behind the scenes when it comes to the power struggle, when it comes to what they are telling Bill to do: don’t have Jordon around anymore. Stop behaving in the way that you have. Basically telling him for the first time, really, that you’re an employee and not the boss of this building in the way that he may have been assuming he would be, then there is the ability for him to get out of it.

That’s before you even consider the fact that stuff is so crazy when it comes to how his family feels, how the people around the school feel, that there’s this larger, ‘Hey, so coach met this woman when she was 19 years old on an airplane and now she’s kind of running his public image as his girlfriend. Is this something that’s sustainable? Is that fireable? What does he have to do to get fired? These are all active questions.”

Torre’s perspective also comes after news broke that the University of North Carolina hired Chicago Bears PR chief Brandon Faber to help the university and program navigate all of the negative press surrounding their relationship. This university hire came after Torre said that Hudson was banned from the campus’ football facilities. After headlines began circulating about that, the university put out a statement clarifying that it was a false statement.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”

Since Hudson was seen on the sidelines during the spring game, Belichick has asked her to be included in email communications; it’s apparent that she’s inserting herself into his professional life, which is not a great look for the famed coach.

All of these new stories have definitely opened up conversation about Jordon Hudson’s motives in her relationship with the 73-year-old former New England Patriots head coach.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out…
