You’ve “Hawk Tuah” be kidding me.
As you probably already know, Haliey Welch rocketed to questionable stardom after she coined the term “Hawk Tuah” during an on-the-street interview in Nashville last summer. Her identity was veiled in mystery for a couple of weeks, until she decided to come forward and embrace the “Hawk Tuah.”
She lengthened her 15 minutes of fame unlike anything the world has ever seen before, making appearances, capitalizing on the moment with merchandise, and starting the infamous “Talk Tuah” podcast. I say infamous because her show segued into a situation where she got caught up in the middle of a crypto scam (stemming from the release of her $HAWK cryptocurrency), and Welch wasn’t seen for months after that.
But the Hawk Tuah break seems to be over. She’s since broken her silence on the crypto controversy, an entertainment and media company announced that they are making a documentary about Haliey Welch, and TMZ just recently reported that the internet star (?) is set to make her acting debut in Glen Powell’s Chad Powers series later this fall:

Imagine making a joke about a sexual act while walking around Downtown Nashville’s Broadway one minute, and then months later, you are making your acting debut in a Hulu original series with no prior acting experience. Is that the “American Dream” that everyone is always talking about?
Obviously, you can’t blame Haliey Welch for continuing to make the most of her moment. The whole crypto thing is certainly a black mark, but there’s a chance (probably a good one) that she didn’t really know what she was getting herself into.
Even that controversy wasn’t enough to extinguish Welch’s 15 minutes months of fame, because now she’s being rewarded with a role in a TV show. No matter how big or small the part is going to be in Hulu’s Chad Powers series, the internet seems to be over the Hawk Tuah girl, and they’re evidently upset that she’s getting another big break:
Damn, she really scamming her way to the top

Yeah… I was somewhat interested in checking the show out when it comes out later this year, but now I’m not so sure. Clearly the internet feels the same way, which is a shame, because it does seem like an interesting role for the actor that’s been on a meteoric rise.
Just to be clear, I’m talking about GLEN POWELL:
