How do you feel about nepotism? Some find it completely abhorrent, while others see it as a someone just using their connection and resources. To me, it depends on how it’s utilized. When Chet Hanks spins the fact that his father is Tom Hanks into a country music career, I’m not crazy about it. But when Ava Phillippe pays homage to one of her mother’s most iconic roles, I’m okay with it.
To be clear, Reese Witherspoon is Ava Phillippe’s mom. Got it? Good, let’s keep things moving.
Ava Phillippe is set to star in ABC’s newest episode of Doctor Odyssey. I’ve never sat down and watched a full episode of the series, but all signs point towards the program being a fever dream of rotating attractive people on a cruise ship. John Stamos, Kelsea Ballerini, and Shania Twain have all had cameos on the ABC medical drama that takes place out on the open seas.
And now, Witherspoon’s daughter is set to making her acting debut on the ABC show. You can Ava pictured below in a pink bathing suit:

If her hot pink garb made you do a double take, there’s a good chance that you were just experiencing a flashback to Reese Witherspoon’s iconic 2001 film Legally Blonde. Remember the scene where Reese’s Elle Woods character submitted her Harvard video application essay?
Here’s a refresher in case you don’t:
Though it’s unclear if the similar bathing suits were done on purpose, I’d find it hard to believe that ABC would accidentally put Reese Witherspoon’s 25-year-old daughter in a bikini that harkens back to the 49-year-old actresses’ beloved movie.
Plus, it seems like it’s helped draw some extra attention to the Doctor Odyssey show, which has yet to be picked up for a second season:

And while we’re on the topic, we’ve got to touch on how Reese and her daughter look a lot alike. You might not agree (even Reese Witherspoon has said she doesn’t see it), but most of the internet thinks they are twins:
And I’m starting to think that the Witherspoons just have ridiculously strong genes, because while researching for this story, I saw a picture of Ava’s grandmother (Reese’s mom) Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Witherspoon.
