Season Two of Landman is officially underway.
Paramount+ ordered a second season of the hit show early last month, and though it doesn’t come as a surprise, fans had been anxiously waiting for a confirmation before then. Especially after the first season ended with a cameo from Andy Garcia that’s obviously meant to spin into a main character role in the second season.
And now, production on the second act of Taylor Sheridan’s drama series – starring Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, among others – has begun. Fans will surely be happy to hear that, since they flocked to the streaming service to watch the first season of Landman. It set a streaming record for Paramount+ last year when more than 14.9 million people tuned in during the show’s first four weeks.
Though the numbers for the series were incredible, there was still some worry amongst fans after it took a while for Paramount+ to officially green light a second season. Some of that anxiety was eased when actress Demi Moore – who plays Cami (married to Jon Hamm’s Monty Miller) – slipped up at the Cannes Festival.
This quote all but confirmed that Landman was coming back:
“It’s a very interesting world in the boomtown of Fort Worth, Texas. It’s kind of this subculture that we haven’t seen before, which is what I think Taylor does so well. I thought we looked really good.
He was lovely and I’ve known Billy Bob Thornton for a long time. I’ve already completed the first season and I’m excited for us to start the second which will be at the beginning of next year.”
Shout out to Demi Moore for scooping that news a couple of months early.

Now, it’s not just the fact that the Landman saga is set to continue. It’s actually, legitimately continuing… as we speak. They could very well be filming the next viral scene right now. And it only makes sense to bring Billy Bob Thornton and the rest of the cast back to continue telling the story that has captivated fans and critics alike. It’s honestly just great to know that the show – which gave Paramount+ it’s best debut in two years – is actively in production.
Chris McCarthy, the CEO of Paramount Global, had this to say about the success of Landman’s first season and the return of the hit series:
“Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan’s unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-western themes of rugged individualism, ambition and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth.
The series has helped drive Paramount+ to new heights as the #2 SVOD in the US for Original Hours Watched in Q4, alongside our other hit series Tulsa King, The Agency, Lioness and Dexter: Original Sin.”
With production starting in early April, the second season airing sometime later this year can’t be ruled out. At the very least, fans should expect Landman Season 2 to become available in early 2026. That’s great news if you ask me… but it’s admittedly still a ways off.
Guess we’ll just have to fire up the best of Season 1 until then:
