Moms Are Furious After Chappell Roan Says She’s Never Met Anyone With Young Kids Who Is Happy

These people prove time and time again there is no reason to listen to their opinions about anything…

Kayleigh Amstutz, AKA Chappell Roan, is a 27-year-old pop star who is blowing up right now with songs like “pink Pony Club” and “Hot to Go.” She has an unapologetic and loud persona, and recently released a “country song” titled “The Giver,” which she has dubbed a “lesbian country album.” She recently won a Grammy for Best New Artist after her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Recently, Roan appeared on the popular podcast Call Her Daddy, hosted by former Barstool Sports personality, Alex Cooper, and they talked about all things relationships, sex, and life. During their conversation Chappell talked a lot about her views on marriage, relationships, and most controversially, parenthood.

She was very critical about the idea of marriage, mentioning concerns of the legalities of marrying a woman and such. But it was in her comments on becoming a parent that sparked the most fire. She said:

“All of my friends who have kids are in hell. I actually don’t know anyone who’s like happy and has children at this age…  have like a one year old, three and under, 4 and under, five and under… I literally have not met anyone who is happy, anyone who has light in their eye, or anyone who has slept… Why did my parents do this?”

You just have to hear it for yourself:

Immediately and not surprisingly, social media was up in arms about this comment.

“Imagine being one those friends that confide in her about being an exhausted parent only for her to share it with the world in a negative way”

“It’s funny because Chappell seems deeply unhappy…”

“She talks like she’s in high school.”

“She’s never had a good take her entire career lmao”

“Real friends would never talk about their friends like this..”

“It’s because she’s in her 20s and her friends live in Missouri.”

“The more she talks the more I dislike her.”

“I feel like Chappell speaks like an overly-confident 19 year old.”

People that hate children are so weird to me.”

Beyond the comments, people are also taking their disapproval to X:

But spreading around the fastest, are the videos on TikTok that mothers began posting showing their happiness with their children, to the sound of Roan’s comments in the background.

Some are showing people before and after they have a baby, countering Chappell Roan’s anti-family narratives:

One tweet included a text saying this:

“Like I’m sure all Chappell Roan’s friends are miserable because they’re on 198247983 SSRIs, they’re gender confused, and in a poly triad”

Bingo…

Let’s be honest, Chappell doesn’t exactly come off as the happiest person in the world, a number of comments suggested as much. But the ultra progressive generation, and in particular, hyper progressive women, are lonelier, more anxious, and less happy then their more moderate or conservative counterparts. In the 2024 American Family Survey survey, only 12% of liberal women 18-40 said they were “completely satisfied with life.” Slightly more than 1 out of 10? Not great. On the other hand, 37% of conservative women and 28% of moderate women aged 18–40 said they were completely satisfied with life.

She clearly was speaking based on her own experiences and conversations with her friends, but someone with a platform as big as hers can’t say such broad generalizations like that without dealing with the consequences. Imagine if it was the other way around and someone made such a broad generalization about the LGBTQ community, even if it was a just a personal reference. “All the gay people I know are…. insert pejorative.” It would be met with the same backlash.

Make no mistake, raising children is extremely difficult, especially in the early, sleepless years, but most parents find immense joy and satisfaction in raising children. In fact, a common regret among elderly people is not having more children when they were younger. Look, I’m not a fan of cancel culture at all, and Chappell is fully entitled to her opinion and experiences, but sometimes people say dumb things, and in this case, the internet is responding accordingly.

Chappell, do whatever you want, but don’t be shocked when moms come back with smoke – and a baby on their hip.
