Can someone please explain to me how this happens because I am beyond confused and annoyed.
Today is the day baseball fans have been clamoring for ever since the weather even slightly started to turn but for a good number of people, myself included, we’re sitting here sh*t out of luck.
MLB.TV is a service that allows you to watch pretty much every game (blackouts and other restrictions apply), which is obviously pretty great if you’re willing to shell out $149 for the year (or if you’re a T-Mobile user, you can get this season for free) but on OPENING DAY, it doesn’t work.

Somehow one of the largest sports leagues on the face of the planet is incapable of providing a product that they endlessly advertise and try to funnel as many people to use as possible.
Literally none of it works. None of the active games can be streamed, none of the stats are loading, literally nothing works. Did they not think to themselves “Hey, it’s Opening Day which means more people than usual are going to be tuning in, why don’t we increase the bandwidth a bit?” Obviously, they did not and it has A LOT of baseball fans up in arms.
Love paying for https://t.co/Y7zYBbVq2Y just to be greeted by this as game 1 as the season starts. @MLB @MLBTV pic.twitter.com/77CiBNaK5M

Truly, truly, this is a failure of epic proportions.
The game is so focused on modernization and growing the sport, which is a good goal, (at least at times, some of these recent changes are insane), you’d think the most important thing they would improve is accessibility, you know, letting people actually be able to watch the games? Seems like that would be pretty important.
But no, we can’t have anything nice because why would any large sports organization actually care about their fans? They’ve already taken in the money for MLB.TV, what incentive do they have to actually keep it running? Today proves that answer: none.
Also, there’s been no communication to us about what’s causing the problem. MLBTV’s support accounts haven’t posted anything since 2023 (go figure) and the MLBTV account just posted that you can watch games on their platform… Which is a bold faced lie.
Hopefully they sort this out and the rest of the season is smooth sailing but I won’t hold my breath.
10 Country Walk-Up Songs I Want To Hear This Season
Even before country music became the cool kid on the block, baseball players have always had an affinity for the genre. Probably something about the Americana aspect of both but regardless, every time you’re at the park you’re bound to hear a few country songs and definitely some Morgan Wallen.
Before we get to the music, be sure you’re buying tickets through Vivid Seats for all your games this year. They give you a free ticket for every 10 you buy, and if you plan on going to a couple games that’ll add up quickly.
Last year, we put together a list of the 10 best country walk-up songs that were being used. Here’s a quick rundown:
10. Pete Alonso, New York Mets: “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” – Travis Tritt
9. Bryce Miller, Seattle Mariners: “Bury My Bones” – Whiskey Myers
8. Reid Detmers, Los Angeles Angels: “Welcome To The Show” – Cody Johnson
7. Aaron Bummer, Atlanta Braves: “Nine Ball” – Zach Bryan
6. Daniel Bard, Colorado Rockies: “Nothing Holds Me Down” – Ryan Bingham
5. Garrett Cleavinger, Tampa Bay Rays: “Gin, Smoke, Lies” – Turnpike Troubadours
4. Will Vest, Detroit Tigers: “Cue Country Roads” – Charles Wesley Godwin
3. J.B. Bukauskas, Milwaukee Brewers: “Sleeping On The Blacktop” – Colter Wall
2. Justin Steele, Chicago Cubs: “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” – Johnny Cash
1. David Fry, Cleveland Guardians: “Loud And Heavy” – Cody Jinks
Honorable mention for Bryce Harper using “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” but it was part of a rotation so can’t fully count it…
This year, I wanted to do something different and give some MLB players a few suggestions for songs they can start walking to the plate too, because of course I’m the go-to source of information for big leaguers everywhere.
Get fired up for the season with these great songs and some new gear from MLB Shop. You never know what you’re going to find on there (“Tetas” Rangers hats anyone?) so go give it a look.
In no order, here’s some songs I really wish to hear before someone smacks a dinger in 2025:
“Snowed In” – The Droptines
“Cuckoo” – Stephen Wilson Jr.
“Lonesome Drifter” – Charley Crockett
“Mamas Broken Heart” – Miranda Lambert
“Till The Morning” – Benjamin Dakota Rogers
“Bar Song” – Koe Wetzel
“Messed Up Kid” – Dexter & the Moonrocks
“You Look Like You Love Me” – Ella Langley ft. Riley Green
“Me On You” – Muscadine Bloodline
“Plastic Horses” – Colby Acuff
