Well that’s one way to get revenge…
A female (now-former) funeral home employee has been arrested in Texas after allegedly cutting off a dead man’s penis and stuffing it in his mouth while preparing his body for burial.
But before you pass judgment, let’s hear the other side of the story: Apparently she did it after finding out that the man she was working on was a registered sex offender.
According to the New York Post, 34-year old Amber Laudermilk decided to go full Lorena Bobbitt (look up the reference if you don’t get it) and cut off the penis of 58-year old Charles Roy Rodriguez after she learned that the man was forced to register as a sex offender after being convicted back in 2001 of sexually assaulting a 31-year old woman. He was given 10 years of probation before passing away from natural causes back in January.
Police say that Laudermilk carried out the castration in front of an embalming student, but told them not to say anything about what they saw. And when asked about the man’s disfigured groin” by another employee, she simply replied that the man had “a lot going on.”
The former funeral home employee was charged with abuse of a corpse, with Harris County Constable Alan Rosen calling the allegations “troubling.”
“This case is about two troubled people: the victim who was a registered sex offender and the defendant, who is accused of viciously attacking his dead body…
No matter what one thinks of his life, the law requires that he be treated with dignity in death… I don’t know the suspect’s past, but we have the utmost empathy for anyone who has been the victim of a sexual assault or is the family or friend of someone who has been the victim of a sexual assault.”
He also expressed hope that Laudermilk “gets the help she needs” after her case is resolved.

Gotta admit, I’m kinda like everybody else on this one. I mean, I get why they had to arrest her. Can’t have funeral home employees just chopping off the manhood of whoever they want. (Although I guess nobody would have known if a fellow employee hadn’t seen it?)
But then again, it’s not like she really hurt the dead guy, and it’s hard to feel too bad for…his body. He clearly had a problem with sticking his penis where it didn’t belong while he was alive, so seems like Ms. Laudermilk was just carrying on that tradition for him after death, no?
Either way, a truly bizarre case. Only in Texas, right?
