Dale Earnhardt Jr. Farted In The Oval Office While Meeting Barack Obama: “Just Gonna Leave It Right Here”

Better out than in, right?

There’s no doubt that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has gotten to do some pretty cool stuff throughout his career. Not only was he a 2-time Daytona 500 champion, but he was NASCAR’s most popular driver 15 years in a row and one of the sport’s most recognizable ambassadors, so Dale got to do a lot of cool things during his time in the Cup Series – like visiting the Oval Office.

Junior has actually been to the White House a few times, including back in 2012 when then-President Barack Obama honored the Cup Series playoff drivers. And during an episode of his new podcast Bless Your Hardt with his wife, Amy Earnhardt, Junior told a hilarious story about that particular visit:

“That was when I tooted in the Oval Office.”

Apparently Dale and Amy were watching TV earlier this week when they saw the Oval Office on the screen and Junior had to confess what he had done to his wife:

“Dale goes, ‘You know I actually farted in the Oval Office once.’ I’m like, ‘Of course you did.'”

Junior says that Obama wasn’t in the office at the time, but as they were touring the Oval Office, he felt something brewing – and decided to let ‘er rip:

“They were letting us walk around the room, and I walked around behind the desk and was just standing there, and I was like, ‘Oh, I gotta little fart here.’

I was like, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna leave it right here.'”

He claims that it didn’t stink up the room, but Amy questions why he didn’t just leave the room before breaking wind in the most famous office in the world:

“The chance of me getting to the restroom before it comes out, it’s pretty low.”

Now let’s be honest, if you have the chance to fart in the Oval Office, you’ve got to take it. I don’t care who the president is. You’ve got a chance for one of your farts to become a part of American history forever. It’s basically in the national archives at that point. Gotta do it.

And sure, I know there are some people who will say it’s disrespectful, but let’s not forget some of the other things that have happened in the Oval Office over the course of America’s history…

Of course Amy wasn’t impressed by Junior’s historic toot, but Dale felt like it was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up:

“Sometimes you’re in these spaces that are just, you know, famous spaces…

If a fart came to you…it ain’t like I was sitting there going, ‘Damn I want to fart in here.’ It’s just like, a fart came.”

Gotta say, I’m on Dale’s side on this one. Only one thing to do in that situation – because here we are, more than a decade later, talking about that fart. I’m sure Junior has ripped a lot of ’em over his life, but there’s only one that he remembers enough to bring it up on a podcast after all this time.

Seems worth it to me.
