“The Whole Mountain Is Very Uphill”– TikTok Couple Stunned To Learn Their Gatlinburg Cabin… Is In The Mountains

A couple honeymooning in Gatlinburg, Tennessee has gone viral for leaving their cabin as soon as they got there and documenting their decision making process on TikTok.

If you’re unaware, Gatlinburg is a vacation town located in the Smoky Mountains. Each year, tons of visitors make the trip through the Volunteer State to take in the scenes and peace that the area provides. There’s also a ton of black bears, which are known to make for some interesting moments, but hey, it’s all part of the mountain experience, right?

Well, apparently this couple had no idea what Gatlinburg was before making the trip and now the entire internet is chiming in on how ridiculous they sound, especially because they thought it wise to post this oversight on the most viral social media platform in history.

Emily and Donald took to TikTok as soon as they got to their rental cabin and were shocked, stunned even, that the mountains were so… mountain-y:

“[Emily] Okay, we are in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, we just checked into our cabin and we are leaving our cabin actually, we are gonna go stay in downtown Gatlinburg. 

[Donald] Just like that Simpsons gif, you walk in, you walk out. It’s way to slope-y

[Emily] Let’s show you what we’re dealing with here. It’s a beautiful view, you know, however, however this is the driveway”

She proceeded to take a video of the driveway, which certainly isn’t flat but it’s paved and really not all that steep… I’ve driven and walked up much worse.

“For people that are in mountains this might not be a big deal, for us who don’t live in mountains this is kinda a big deal, especially late at night, it’s supposed to rain tomorrow, this scares me. The whole mountain that we have to drive through is very uphill.”

The mountain they drove through was… very uphill… And the guy said it was too slope-y! I understand not being from the mountains, not everyone is, but do you not have the ability to know what a mountain is and use that brain of yours to visualize what that might mean in actuality? I’m not from the desert but if I was taking a trip there I wouldn’t suddenly bail out because it happened to be dry when I got there…

Let’s hope this is a good learning experience for the two of them. If you’re going to the mountains, expect mountains. The ocean will be wet, the artic cold, the tropics hot.

Also, hilarious that Dylan Scott is playing on the car radio. Almost like they said “Hey, we’re in Tennessee, let’s put on that country music stuff” and somehow found Dylan Scott… She does have a ton of line dancing videos, though to rap songs, and wears a “Make America Healthy Again” shirt so the comments saying she must be a lib seem unfounded, but man, I just can’t get over the fact they were upset that the mountains were too “slope-y” and “uphill”…
