It’s honestly hard to tell what is real and what is satire anymore…
I can’t find the original source of this video here, so there’s no way for me to verify who the person is, what their job in the federal government is (sounded like something healthcare related), or if they’re actually being serious with the hysteria… I just don’t know. But… she certainly sounds 100% serious in this lengthy rant about how responding to an email with what she did this week is akin to living in North Korea.
Of course, one of the most controversial elements of President Trumps first month in office, or at least the mainstream media wants you to think that it is controversial, is the appointment of Elon Musk to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, affectionally known as DOGE. What’s DOGE? It’s basically a temporary initiative to try and local areas of waste, fraud, and abuse in the budget of the federal government. And they’ve already located billions of dollars that are being wasted on ridiculous things like:
$1.5 million to push DEI agendas in Serbian workplaces
$70,000 to found a DEI musical in Ireland
$47,000 to a transgender opera in Colombia
$20 million to fund Sesame Street in Iraq
$32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru
$2 million for sex changes and LGBT activism in Guatemala
$6 million to fund tourism Egypt
$2 million dollars to Moroccan pottery classes
Last week, DOGE send out a mass email to government employees basically asking for everyone to quickly recap what they did in their work week. You know, just a few bullet points detailing what you accomplished since the American taxpayers are paying your salary. Failure to respond could result in termination, although, several key agencies, including the FBI, State Department, and Pentagon, advised their employees to disregard the mandate, citing security concerns. Despite internal pushback, President Trump has publicly and privately supported Musk’s aggressive approach. Musk defended his actions, stating that President Trump encouraged him to be “more aggressive” in his efforts to reform the federal government’s spending habits.
This is a relatively easy ask, and one that is common in just about every workplace to some degree, but naturally, the internet is up in arms about such oppressive, tyrannical leadership.
One alleged government employee unleashed a 8 minute rant on TikTok about it, which was condensed to about 4 minutes and shared on Twitter. And let’s just say, the hysteria knows no bounds. Likening the request to North Korea, she said she felt “absolute existential dread” typing out a response.
Listen to this insanity:
“The feeling of just absolute existential dread that I felt typing out a response to that email is something that I wish I could convey to everyone because it felt like such a glimpse into the reality they’re trying to create. And it was terrifying. It felt like ‘You will do what I say or else.'”
What kind of reality is that? An efficient one?
She continued:
“This whole thing is an exercise for them to show us how much power they have and how little power we have, and how we must do what they say. And who the f*** is Elon and how does he get to decide that he is the king of the federal employees? There’s no rationale here that makes any sense outside of ‘Look how much power I have and you better f***ing listen or your livelihood is gone.’
The feeling that I felt responding to that email was such a glimpse into a possible future here, probable future here if we don’t f***ing do something about it. It felt so scary and so heartbreaking. It felt much like I would imagine living in a place like… what I always imagine living in North Korea to be like. Where the energy is ‘Yes Master. Your wish is my command.'”

Yeah, sending an email is like living in North Korea… we’ve totally lost the plot.
I mean, most agencies have some kind of Monday morning standup, or even a daily standup where they quickly discuss what they’re working on each day. We have them here at Whiskey Riff on occasion. It’s very common practice in just about ANY job, anywhere in the world, to be accountable to your superiors for what you produce… or don’t produce. In fact, I’ve fired people not producing… it’s how you run a business. And make no mistake… the government should be run like a business… not a charity. We cannot thrive as a nation if we’re consistently throwing money in the garbage, and then printing more, and throwing that away too. It’s completely unsustainable, and here’s the kicker… most people agree.
Gravy train is over, folks… time come to work.
