It was obvious to anybody who was watching that something was wrong with the former president, especially when you compare it to videos of him from just a few years ago. But the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) spent his entire term telling us that Biden was as sharp as he had ever been:

Of course the whole narrative crumbled when Biden debated Donald Trump back in June 2024, which turned out to be a complete disaster for the then-president and made it clear just how far gone he really was. Democrats panicked and forced Biden off the ticket, but in the end it didn’t really matter because Trump ended up defeating Kamala Harris anyway.
But in the aftermath of Trump’s win, the media has all of a sudden taken a newfound interest in Biden’s cognitive decline, something that they told us for years wasn’t happening.
Now not only are they admitting that it was real, but CNN anchor Jake Tapper (who happened to be the moderator for that disastrous debate) and Axios correspondent Alex Thompson announced today that they have a book coming out about it.
Coming on May 20, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again dives into exactly how Biden’s decline was covered up for four years.
According to the publisher of the book, Penguin Press:
“What you will learn makes President Biden’s decision to run for reelection seem shockingly narcissistic, self-delusional, and reckless — a desperate bet that went bust — and part of a larger act of extended public deception that has few precedents,”
Yeah Jake, I wonder how the White House was able to get away with covering it up. And on a completely unrelated note, here’s Jake Tapper attacking Lara Trump for questioning Biden’s mental decline, accusing her of making fun of his stutter:

It’s pretty rich that after the media actively covered up such an obvious cognitive decline, now Tapper is coming along and acting like he was a victim in all this. “The White House lied to us.” Well yeah, you’re the media, it’s your job to figure out the truth, not just repeat those lies and attack anybody who questions them.
Utterly shameless behavior here from Jake Tapper, but unfortunately not really surprising coming from our media these days. I for one can’t wait to not read a word from this hack’s book.
