Wonder why they’re canceling her show?
I’ll admit I don’t watch much MSNBC these days, because they don’t exactly align with my political ideology. The far-left network has built their brand on bashing President Donald Trump and the GOP, giving platforms to some of the most liberal commentators in the media like Rachel Maddow and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
Of course the network can be entertaining for conservatives if you’re into watching them melt down over everything Donald Trump does. I tuned in on election night just to see how sad they were as Trump pulled ahead and eventually defeated Kamala Harris, and it didn’t disappoint.
During their coverage on the evening of the 2024 election, the panel featuring Maddow, Psaki, Chris Hayes and Joy Reid tried to make sense of why Harris was losing, and naturally the first explanations they turned to were racism and misogyny, with Reid making the hilarious declaration that Harris ran a “flawless” campaign because…she got Queen Latifah’s endorsement:
“Anyone who has experienced, or been in the United States for any period of time, and experienced this country’s history and knows it, can not have believed that it would be easy to elect a woman president, let alone a woman of color. Let’s just be clear.
And nothing that was true yesterday about how flawlessly this campaign was run is not true now. This really was an historic, flawlessly run campaign.
Queen Latifah never endorses anyone. She came out and endorsed her. She had every prominent celebrity voice, she had the Swifties, she had the Beyhive. You could not have run a better campaign in that short period of time, and I think that’s still true.”

Of course given everything we’ve learned about the campaign over the past few months would seem to suggest there were plenty of flaws (also, Harris loss, so it seems there were at least SOME flaws), but hey, I’m not the one making the big bucks for my political opinion like Joy Reid.
Well, at least she used to be making the big bucks, because it sounds like MSNBC decided it was time to make a change.
MSNBC has reportedly decided to make a change to their lineup, canceling Reid’s primetime show The ReidOut and replacing it with a new panel show featuring Alicia Menendez, Michael Steele, and Symone Sanders Townsend. The change comes as Reid has lost nearly half of her viewers following the election of Donald Trump to a second term, and MSNBC continues to run far behind Fox News when it comes to viewers in both primetime and overall numbers.
Reid previously worked on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and first joined MSNBC in 2015. She’s hosted The ReidOut in the network’s 7 PM slot since 2020, and along the way she’s given us her brilliant political commentary like…comparing Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt to Joe Biden surviving COVID:

Man, that really goes to show how low the bar was for Joe Biden. He survives a virus that 99% of people survive and Joy Reid thinks it should be celebrated as much as Trump surviving an assassination attempt.
Gotta admit, I’m starting to see why her show was canceled…
