Another day of me scrolling on TikTok and crying at videos of kind-hearted strangers.
There has been a lot of wholesome content on the internet these days, and I am here for it. We need more things highlighting the goodness and random acts of kindness in the world, even though the doom and gloom get the clicks and feed the algorithm.
Recently, many of these wholesome viral videos have been of older men. Like the man who touched TikTok viewers with his Shop Talk videos or a Kansas man who shared a video of him taking his 95-year-old Uncle Bob fishing, we have another man to add to this category of tender content.
A California-based woman took a video that has blown up in less than 24 hours since it’s been posted. Gaining over 7 million views and nearly 2 million likes, she captured the most wholesome video of an elderly man who sits by the beach in Oceanside and hands out dog treats to four-legged friends passing by
“This man sits with a bag of treats, waiting for dogs to show up.”
The on-screen caption reads.
The sweet older man sits near the boardwalk with a full bag of Pup-Peroni, asking the owners of passing dogs if he can give them a treat. He even walks up to cars at a nearby light to give Pup-Peronis to dogs, sticking their head out of the window.
Naturally, the dogs that pass by this man feel like they have hit the jackpot, getting a surprise treat. But the gentleman also looks happy with each interaction with a four-legged friend. We often say we don’t deserve dogs, but this video demonstrates that we sometimes don’t deserve humans. This man is a gem… we must protect him at all costs.

After watching this video and reading a few of the comments, the internet has collectively agreed that this is our retirement plan goal. I’m right there with every person who left that comment, I’d love to spend my days sitting near a beach passing out Pup-Peronis to dog.
