Horrifying Video Shows Passenger Upside Down Inside Delta Air Lines Flight Moments After Crash At Toronto Airport

Absolutely horrifying.

Today, there was a very scary crash that occurred when a Delta Air Lines regional jet landed and then crashed and flipped upside down on the runway at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada.

There are reports that it may have slid on ice coming in, though obviously, the investigation is ongoing and it’s still very early in terms of any solid answers. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that are thankfully zero fatalities at this time, though at 15 people were injured, and three have been confirmed to be in the hospital in critical condition, which includes a small child.

According to USA TODAY, the airport operator said it was “aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta (Air Lines) plane arriving from Minneapolis.” A statement from the FAA went as follows:

“Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada around 2:45 p.m. local time on Monday, February 17. All 80 people on board were evacuated. The CRJ-900 departed Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be in charge of the investigation and will provide any updates.”

There are tons of photos going around of how the plane looked on the tarmac, and obviously, it wasn’t good… at all:

Delta issued this statement:

“Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air using a CRJ900 aircraft, was involved in a single-aircraft accident at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) around 3:30p ET on Monday. The flight originated from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Initial reports were that there are no fatalities. Several customers with injuries were transported to area hospitals. Our primary focus is taking care of those impacted.”

USA TODAY also confirmed that The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (Canada’s version of the U.S.’s National Transportation Safety Board) will lead the investigation into this incident has investigators going to the scene:

“The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators following an accident involving an aircraft operated by Delta Air Lines, that occurred today at the Toronto / Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Ontario. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence,” a statement from the agency said.

Hopefully, all of the crew and passengers will make it, and many of them have already walked off and gone home… but the trauma of something like that will last forever. I can’t even imagine how scary that must’ve been, and obviously, we’ll be hearing firsthand from many of those involved in the coming hours, days and weeks.

I haven’t seen much yet from the inside of the plane, but the Daily Mail obtained a video from a woman who recorded on her phone while completely upside down, which looks beyond scary and like something out of a horror movie, honestly:

I’m sure there’s sadly a lot more footage like this we’ll be seeing, and it just goes to show why it’s so important to wear your seatbelt while taking off and landing. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who continue to fight for their lives in critical condition in the hospital, as well as their families.
