A horrific situation unfolded recently outside of Dream nightclub in Chattanooga when a 24-year old man parked his car down the road and then walked to the parking lot before opening fire on the crowd outside.
The gunman reportedly ducked between parked cars while he began shooting – but a quick-thinking security guard prevented the scary situation from turning into a horrific tragedy.
Video surveillance shows what happened after the shooting began, when the security guard quickly pulled out a rifle and returned fire. And it might just be the most badass thing you see all day, because of just how calm the security guard managed to remain as he fired off dozens of rounds at the shooter to protect his customers:

Like I said, badass.
The security guard hasn’t been identified, but the head of security at the club praised his quick response for saving lives:
“The gun was given to the police department and everything. It was quick action by our licensed security guard who did what he had to do to protect innocent lives.”
Meanwhile, the 24-year old man was the only person injured in shooting, and was arrested after he showed up at the hospital to receive treatment from his gunshot wound. Probably lucky that’s all it was…
Obviously, people online were praising the security guard after seeing the heroic footage:
“That is the calmest return of fire I think I’ve ever seen from a non-professional. Just casually ripping off rounds like “nah son, not today”. What a legend.”
“This is what America needs, which is really sad. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”
“Outstanding performance by that security guard. Assess the situation and he was Johnny on the spot.”
“Bro was cool and collected that day, and saved a lot of lives.”
“There are heroes among us, and you never know they are there. Thank God this person was there”
“Bro was calm as hell.”
“There’s only a few times the phrase ‘standing on business’ applies … this is one of them.”
And the head of security for the business said the community should take notice of the guard’s quick actions:
“If any one comes down here with that foolishness, they know now that Dream security has zero tolerance.”
The bar also says they’ve increased security following the shooting, as well as others in the not-so-distant past:
“We upped the amount of security that we had. We have ten security here, we upgraded our metal detectors, we have cameras all over that can catch every angle.”
Seems like you’d better find a different place than Dream if you’re going to do something stupid. That security guard fired an awful lot of rounds, and was cool as a cucumber while he did it. The shooter’s just lucky that he was able to walk to the hospital and wasn’t carried in on a stretcher or in a body bag.
