One step closer to the end of the story.
Ever since Yellowstone went on hiatus following the first half of its final season, there's been no shortage of questions as to whether the show would ever return, and if it did, would the characters we've grown familiar with be part of it.
The on-again, off-again relationship between the show's creator Taylor Sheridan and lead actor Kevin Costner has been well documented, with reports of both parties breaking contractual agreements hitting the media, but it seems as if Costner is willing to wrap up his part in the story, at least according to what he told GQ in a recent interview.
"I said, ‘Well, if you want to kill me, if you want to do something like that,’ I said, ‘I have a week before I start. I’ll do what you want to do.'”
The filming schedule has been the main factor driving the two parties apart as Costner put over $38 million of his own money into a multi-part movie titled Horizon: An American Saga. Well, there's still no word on whether he'll be returning to finish a show he'll forever be linked to, but according to Paramount, production for the final episodes has officially started as of today.
Paramount+ Brazil confirmed the reporting with a post on X earlier today. The English translation is below:
"I bring the news that everyone wanted: production on the next season of Yellowstone has started and is expected to premiere in November"

While there's still no official release date, safe to say we're going to get this story closed out one way or another.
Fingers crossed they can bring Kevin Costner back in some way... the show won't be the same without him.
