Saquon Barkley Was Shotgunning Coors Light (Patrick Mahomes’ Favorite Beer) After The Eagles’ Dominant Win

Saquon Eagles

Simply a celebratory beer or a not-so-subtle message to the Chiefs? The Philadelphia Eagles punched their ticket to the Super Bowl yesterday afternoon with a dominant 55-23 win over division rival Washington. Granted, both teams could feel pretty good about themselves today as the Commanders had just 4 wins last year and came into the season with a rookie starting quarterback, so just the fact they upset the Buccaneers and Lions en route to their first NFC Championship game since the 1991 season is something worth being happy about. Jalen Hurts, despite many Eagles fans continually complaining about his play, finished an impressive 20/28 through the air for 246 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions, while adding 16 yards and three (!) rushing touchdowns on the ground, but once again it was Saquon Barkley who stole the headlines. Saquon broke free for a 60 yard touchdown run on the very first play Philadelphia ran and never slowed down, finishing with 118 yards on just 15 carries, adding 3 (!) touchdowns to boot. https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1883610699072774476 The AFC Championship was once again a match-up of two of the most exciting quarterbacks in the league, but unfortunately it ended the same way all the other playoff head-to-heads have gone.

Another Kansas City Bailout?

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs snuck by Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills yet again with a 32-29 victory at Arrowhead, which quite naturally lead fans to cry "rigged" as KC will be heading to New Orleans to play (and try to win) their third Super Bowl in a row. Why exactly do fans think it's rigged? Well, there's a number of reasons, the first being the apparent help given by referees time and time again in big situations. A missed face mask, blown first-down call, a questionable reception, each one at a critical part of the game, and each one part of a bigger pattern of referees seemingly always siding with the Chiefs when a flag is thrown during a big moment. https://twitter.com/SharpFootball/status/1883700668801888543 But there's another reason people think the NFL is rigged. In case you haven't heard, the Chiefs tight end has himself a girlfriend who a lot of people enjoying hearing sing. In fact, this girlfriend has such a loyal fanbase that the sheer volume of young girls that are (somehow still) tuning in to watch Travis Kelce play is printing money for the organization and NFL as a whole. Safe to say, there's absolutely an incentive for the league to try and get Taylor Swift to another Super Bowl... https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1883717607494463791

Philly For The World

Honestly, the Eagles don't seem to worried about the daunting task of saving America from yet another Kansas City Chiefs championship. For all their ups and down, the team has come together at just the right moment and it's going to be anyone's game on February 9th. If you need proof that Philly isn't worried, and in fact looks pretty dang confident, take a look at this clip of Saquon celebrating last night's win: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFT4IqyOO9X/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Raper 2Rare was in the locker room and posted that clip of him dapping up Saquon, but did you happen to notice what was in Barkley's hand? A fresh, ice cold Coors Light, prepped and ready to be shotgunned. I think I speak for all the boys when I say "Hell yeah". https://twitter.com/5chultzycat/status/1883921366149390759 However, we can take this one step further and it's an even cooler moment...

Patrick Mahomes Loves Coors Light

It's no secret that Patrick Mahomes is a huge Coors Light guy. Comedian Andrew Santino told a story about Pat finishing a case at a comedy club one night and he signed a sponsorship with Coors Bear to skirt the NFL's insane rule that players can't be sponsored by alcohol companies. I guess they expect us to forget that the entire league is sponsored by Bud Light... rules for thee, not for me... https://twitter.com/PatrickMahomes/status/1669346007040262147?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1669346007040262147%7Ctwgr%5E0db056a80be2fe222b090601a9fd3ae6072e6a59%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2025%2F01%2F13%2Fpatrick-brittany-mahomes-name-their-newborn-daughter-golden-i-think-i-know-why%2F More recently he named his daughter "Golden", which we don't know for sure is an illusion to the hometown of Coors, but it's certainly a funny coincidence to say the least. Back to Saquon... Do you remember which brand he was shotgunning in the locker room? Oh yeah, Coors Light.

That Coors Light Confidence

Maybe Coors Light just so happened to be the available beer and he grabbed whatever was sitting in the cooler. Maybe someone opened the hole and handed it to him and that's when the video was taken. Maybe there's nothing at all under the surface here and it's just a guy being a dude celebrating a huge win. But, can we at least admit there's a chance this brand was specifically chosen? That Philly said "Screw the rest, give us Mahomes' beer cause we ain't scared", that Saquon wanted to send a message loud and clear that whatever KC could do, they could do better? That he said "Mahomes sips Coors Lights, I'll shotgun one. You can drink 10, I'll drink 11"? Sure, it's a longshot and maybe I'm just here starting rumors on the internet. Maybe. But I think Coors Light was chosen on purpose. I think shotgunning was done on purpose. I think a message was sent that Philly is on the hunt and they will be taking no prisoners and holding nothing sacred. Heck, I'm not even an Eagles fan and I feel like I grew up eating cheesesteaks and thinking that Rocky was actually the heavyweight champ. I think I speak for all of America when I say...
