![Matthew McConaughey Does His Best Mike Ditka In Teaser For Uber Eats “Da Bears” Super Bowl Commercial]()

We're entering into one of my favorite advertising times of the year.
It's always interesting to me that companies seem to step up their game when it comes to advertising during the Super Bowl. Often times, instantly recognizable brands all of the sudden pull out all of the stops in an effort to create a memorable, lasting ad that sticks out from the rest. It all begs the question... why don't advertisers care about their commercials this much year round?
Personally, it's the only time I'm truly looking forward to the interruption in programming, and if I'm being honest, the advertisements are often my favorite part of the “Big Game." And I say that as a rabid NFL fan. I usually even have a rule at my Super Bowl parties that you can talk all you want during the game, but everyone in attendance has to shut the hell up during commercials.
That being said, the Super Bowl ads in recent years have pivoted from trying to be funny to being more emotionally driven, and I don’t know about you, but I’m not a huge fan of that. The
Taylor Swift themed commercial that came out last year gets a pass though... it might have revolved around the pop star (and most NFL fans don't like that she's intertwined with football now), but it was very well done. I cannot confirm nor deny that it got some waterworks going this time last year.
And while we're on the topic of modern day Super Bowl ads – they don’t actually come out during the Super Bowl anymore. Instead, companies release teasers leading up to the “Big Game,” and some even just release their ads beforehand to try and expand on the commercial’s exposure. The jury is still out on whether or not that's a good thing. On one hand, there's some build up to the Super Bowl, but on the other, it totally takes the element of surprise out of the most important (and expensive) advertising of the year.
All that being said, I definitely don't mind the teasers - if they're done well, of course. Uber Eats teamed up with everyone's favorite, smooth-talking actor Matthew McConaughey, and it appears they decided to shine a spotlight on the Chicago Bears. Or at the very least, the legend and lore of "Da Bears," and the famous coach that will always be connected to their franchise: Mike Ditka.
In the teaser, McConaughey looks into a mirror and practices saying "Da Bears" over and over again. Once he gains enough confidence in it, he exits the room and the date for the Super Bowl pops up on the screen, leading all of us to assume that we'll get to see how Matthew utilizes his Bears garb and Chicago-style accent during the "Big Game."

It'll be interesting to see where that teaser of Matthew McConaughey trying to perfect his "Da Bears" ends up when the Super Bowl ad premieres.
Could it be a somewhat of a throwback advertisement that harkens back to the time when The Super Fans were all the rage on
Saturday Night Live? After all, these fictitious Bears fans were always eating at Ditka's, and they were dressed in their best Bears gear and looked strikingly similar to Mike Ditka.
It's a classic, and I'd be alright, alright, alright with Matthew McConaughey taking a swing at it:
