Football Fans Call NFL “Rigged” As Kansas City Chiefs Punch Ticket To Third Straight Super Bowl

Chiefs Bills game

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have done it again. We should all be so grateful to witness greatness at such a high level. Instead? We're all complaining that the Kansas City Chiefs have once again run through the postseason, winning an AFC Championship and punching a ticket to their third straight Super Bowl. They are the first team ever in the history of the NFL to have a chance to three-peat as Super Bowl champs. I'll speak for all the other football fans and say we are so happy for them (*cough* sarcasm *cough*). Once again, Mahomes and the Chiefs faced off against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the postseason with the season on the line. Nearly all of America was rooting for Buffalo, which means there are a lot of Americans that are upset the Chiefs pulled off the win 32 to 29. Kansas City was able to run out the clock after Allen and the Bills were unable to drive down the field and score. https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1883713485730701538 The victory didn't come without some skepticism from football fans. You probably are aware that there's a theory that the Chiefs get a little extra help from the referees, or at the very least, it seems like Kansas City benefits from some very important calls. In the first half of the game, this was called a catch for the Chiefs, even though it looked like the football touched the ground. Most online were saying that if anything, it should have been an interception for the Buffalo Bills: https://twitter.com/mjrusher/status/1883680691726238015 That call went in favor of Kansas City after the Buffalo Bills challenged the ruling on the field of a catch. And later on in the game, when Josh Allen and the Bills needed to convert on a "4th and inches," the talented quarterback kept the ball and certainly looked like he had reached the line to gain. The referees reviewed the play, and determined that Allen did not cross the line to gain, and it was a turnover on downs that handed the Chiefs the ball. It was undoubtedly close, but a camera angle that showed the play from above sure made it look like the Bills should have been awarded a first down: https://twitter.com/69RussG0D/status/1883709992701931631 A number of fans also claimed to have spotted a few potential penalties on this big return, but not a flag in sight: https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1883678460813754652 Needless to say, Kansas City Chiefs fatigue has set in across the sports world. I'll be honest... I thought this game was one of the more fair refereed that I can remember during the era of the Chiefs dynasty. And at the same time, if Dalton Kincaid makes that catch and we might be talking about a whole different ballgame... at the end of the day, you gotta make the plays. But there will still some questionable calls (in huge moments) that led to a lot of social media users to call the NFL rigged: Hate to see so many football fans upset - and some even calling for a boycott of the Super Bowl. Maybe they'll be cheered up by seeing Taylor Swift and Mama Kelce celebrating the Chiefs win though? https://twitter.com/NFLonCBS/status/1883712582470533164
