![Patrick & Brittany Mahomes Name Their Newborn Daughter “Golden”… & I Think I Know Why]()
![Mahomes Golden Coors]()
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are now parents to three.
Today, January 13th, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes revealed on Instagram that their newborn daughter made her way into the world yesterday, January 12th. The couple shared a simple black-and-white photo of mom and dad's hands over the newborn's feet, with her name displayed behind her.
"•Golden Raye Mahomes• 1/12/25"
I can't embed her actual post so shoutout to Ian Rapoport for snagging that screengrab and posting it to X:

Golden Raye is the second girl added to the family, as Mahomes and Brittany have their first born-daughter, Sterling Skye, 3, and son, Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, who is 2.
It's beyond exciting to see the news that their daughter was delivered into the world safely, and the mom is doing well. And how about that timing? Pat said he was hoping to win the AFC so she could have the baby during their bye week, and she absolutely nailed it. Baby is here, born on a Sunday of all days, and Pat still has a week before he has to be ready to take on the Houston Texans at home with Travis Kelce and the boys.
But, was it just us who saw their daughter's name, Golden, and instantly tied it to Patrick Mahomes' love for Coors beer? Patrick Mahomes is well-known for his ability to hammer a ton of cold Coors Lights. And make no mistake, Coors loves Mahomes too.
The Kansas City Chiefs star has appeared in numerous commercials, and it's been Mahomes' drink of choice during the Super Bowl champions parade in KC. However, when the NFL announced in 2024 that athletes could not appear in advertisements for alcohol, including beer, Mahomes' acting career with Coors Light ended.

He also launched a Coors Light "bear" commercial, not to be confused with a "beer" commercial, after the ban:

With the original Coors brewing being located in Golden, Colorado, I think it's pretty clear why the Mahomes family landed on the name. I mean, their kids are named Sterling, Bronze and Golden... which is sorta like Silver, Bronze and Gold, so that's one possibility... but I think it's definitely the beer thing. Sterling is the oldest and then Bronze, and then Golden... so the order doesn't really make a lot of sense. Although, Bronze's nickname comes because he's Patrick Mahomes III, and bronze medals are issued for 3rd place... so I get that.
But for Golden... it's gotta be his love of Coors. It just makes too much sense.
The Golden, Colorado brewery, owned by Molson Coors, was the first Coors brewery location and is the largest single brewing facility in the world. Although Molson Coors now operates many breweries internationally, which include 22 total United States locations, the first location in Golden, Colorado, remains one of the most iconic in the company's portfolio.

I have to say it's pretty epic, and the ultimate dad move, to name his daughter after his favorite refreshing adult beverage. Regardless, congratulations to the Mahomes family... we can't wait to see all of the newborn content.
Now get home and crack open an ice cold Coors... you deserve it.
