Forget Triple AAA roadside assistance... all you need is a couple of NFL players. The Kansas City Chiefs were supposed to be on their bye-week after securing the AFC's number one seed in the NFL's postseason. Judging by this video below, two of their players didn't get the memo and did what some might consider dangerous heavy lifting. Or heavy pushing might be the better way of saying it. Kanas City got blitzed (see what I did there?) with heavy snow this past week, as 12 inches of snow blanketed the area. Much of the midwest and southern United States dealt with winter weather and temperatures, which made traveling a headache. Even when the snow and ice started to melt, there were still some portions that made driving a car tricky, and Missouri resident Gretchen Enyeart found that out the hard way. She was apparently running late to church and decided to park in a questionable spot on the street that was available. The street parking option was still covered with ice and snow, but Enyeart parked there anyways and hoped for the best. After the church service was over, the woman returned to her vehicle and tried to leave... and had no luck. Her tires were spinning in the ice and snow, and she was officially in need of assistance. As she told FOX 4: “I pressed my gas a couple times and knew immediately I wasn’t getting out on my own." Enyeart made a few phone calls, and luckily enough, her best friend Ana Demmer knew just the person that could help. Demmer is dating Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, and he and his teammate - guard Trey Smith - had actually used their Sunday off to go to the same church as Enyeart. So they rose to the occasion in typical Kanas City Chiefs fashion and use their strength and willpower to help get the woman's car unstuck. All they did was push from a couple of different angles while Enyeart was inside giving it some gas, and sure enough, the car was able to gain traction once again and be freed from its icy hold. If you ask me... I think the two offensive lineman could have picked the whole car up if they wanted to. Gretchen Enyeart was very fortunate that the two NFL players were there and at the ready to help her out, and as she told FOX 4, she was very grateful for their help: "Thankful the guys were there. (Humphrey and Smith) got to my car when they heard I was stuck. Two solid pushes and I was back on the road.” So not only are Humphrey and Smith critical to the prosperity of the Kansas City Chiefs, they also now have great success in moving stuck vehicles out of the snow. Kansas City residents now know who to call if they ever need help getting out of the snow, and all of that training for football certainly came in handy when it came time to man-handle this sedan.
