![Los Angeles Fire Chief Praised For “Proving Lesbians Get It Done” As Palisades Wildfire Is Zero Percent Contained]()

Get what done exactly?
The devastation in California is unreal right now, with numerous wildfires burning out of control and leveling major parts of the city. The largest of the fires, the Pacific Palisades fire, has already ripped through over 17,000 acres and destroyed over 1,000 structures, making it the most destructive fire in Los Angeles history.
Meanwhile, at least four other fires are burning in the LA area, and so far over 180,000 people have been evacuated from their homes with at least five dead, though that number is unfortunately likely to rise as the true scope of the disaster becomes more clear.
The fires are being driven by not only the dry conditions, but also the Santa Ana winds bringing gusts of up to 100 mph and spreading the blazes faster than firefighters can tackle them.
And to make matters worse, reports have come out about fire hydrants running out of water due to the massive demand and strain on the city's water supply - and when California Governor Gavin Newsom was asked about the dry hydrants, his response was basically, 'Eh, the city will have to figure that out on their own.'

Of course Newsom isn't the only official whose actions have been called into question during the disaster. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was in Ghana as the wildfires were raging, and cut her trip short after receiving criticism for being out of the country as her city was dealing with the emergency.
And during a particularly tense moment yesterday, Bass was asked whether she owed citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning - and she pulled a Joe Biden and completely froze up:

(There was also a moment where she apparently went full Ron Burgundy and read straight from the script while telling people to visit a website for assistance...except the script hadn't been filled in and she just told them to go to "URL.")
Yeah, leaders not exactly inspiring confidence right now.
Although there is one leader who's getting praise for her actions: Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristen Crowley.
Now, you may be asking: Why is she being praised when the fires are zero percent contained and thousands of homes have been destroyed, five people have died, the fire hydrants have no water, etc, etc.
Well apparently none of that matters, because Pride Magazine is praising Crowley for proving that "lesbians get it done."
Get what done exactly? Who knows.

Crowley herself has been criticized online, including by actor James Woods who lost his home in the Palisades fire, for her biography on the LAFD website which claims her priorities are "creating, supporting and promoting a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equity."

Maybe it's just me, but seems that a fire chief's only priority should be preventing and fighting fires. But what do I know.
It's safe to say there will be plenty of blame to go around once it's all said and done - some of it well-deserved, and some maybe not so much - but right now, it looks like a total failure on all levels out in California as the city struggles to bring these fires under control.
