Joe Rogan Predicted Devastating Wildfires Months Ago After Conversation With California Firefighter: “Gonna Burn Through LA All The Way To The Ocean”

Joe Rogan/ Pacific Palisades

It's truly heartbreaking to see the unfathomable devastation that the greater Los Angeles, California area is experiencing right now. Entire neighborhoods are being wiped off the map as the Palisades and Eaton fires have collectively burned almost 27,000 acres. And the conditions continue to look bleak, as high winds and low humidity in the region foster a perfect environment for the wildfires to spread - and new ones to spark. The blazing and uncontrollable fires were apparently started in the residential community known as the Pacific Palisades, and they've since killed at least five people and have left hundreds of people without a home in the greater Los Angeles area. Footage from the natural disaster looks like that out of horror and apocalyptic movies, like this clip that a man took as his home was completely surrounded by the flames: https://twitter.com/SiaKordestani/status/1876845562328146405?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1876845562328146405%7Ctwgr%5Ea90c7cdbdbd48e8dbc8b58d1fabadad87762a1e7%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2025%2F01%2F08%2Fpresident-joe-biden-goes-full-cringe-announces-hes-a-great-grandfather-right-in-the-middle-of-california-wildfires-briefing%2F Over 130,000 people have been evacuated, and more than 300,000 homes are without power – all while air quality levels have reached hazardous classification. It’s a complete and utter disaster, though the brave firefighters are doing all they can to fight the flames to save buildings, communities, and lives. Firefighters and first responders are doing their best to control the blaze, but they’ve run into a number of issues. Strong Santa Ana winds continue to spread and empower the existing fires that are burning, and the Los Angeles Fire Department insists that they are running out of water, as fire hydrants have failed in much of the area. Those challenges have led to most of the fires (Palisades, Eaton, Sunset) that are burning in California to be categorized as “zero percent contained.” Only the Hurst and Lidia fires are considered partially contained. This horrible disaster has left many wondering if there was more the Los Angeles community could have done to prepare. All kinds of criticism has circulated online, with some reports claiming that the LA fire department's budget was recently cut by $18 million dollars. Another suggested that the city's water supply has been mismanaged for years, and despite the Palisades community being supplied with three 1-million-gallon tanks of water, the dwindling supply rendered the neighborhood's fire hydrants useless in the early morning hours on Wednesday. The wildfires have been unceasing, and the videos documenting the Los Angeles disaster have been shared online in an overwhelming fashion as well. And conversations from older episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience have also garnered a lot of attention, as the podcast host detailed some scary "predictions" that he had heard from firefighters in the Los Angeles area. Rogan confesses that part of the reason he moved from California to Texas was because of the potential for devastating natural disasters in southern California... particularly, wildfires. "I was always waiting for the next earthquake or the next fire, I was evacuated from my house 3 times for fires. The last one, two houses in front of my house burnt to the ground, right in front of my house... it's f***ing scary when you see them coming... it burnt 40 houses in my neighborhood... 3 separate times we had to get evacuated. When you see it, the walls of flame from the left to the right, everywhere you see is flames and you see houses going up, it's spooky like a horror movie." And then the viral part, Rogan detailed a back and forth discussion he had with a California firefighter who said it was just a matter of time before LA gets burned to the ground: "I talked to a fireman once. This is one of the reasons it freaked me out. He was telling me, 'Dude, one day, it's just going to be the right wind and the fire is going to start in the right place, and it's gonna burn through L.A. all the way to the ocean. And there's not a f**king thing we can do about it.' I go, 'Really?' He goes, 'Yeah, we just get lucky (most of the time) with the wind. But if the wind hits the right way, it's just gonna burn straight through L.A. and there's not going to be a thing we could do about it.' These fires are so big dude, we're talking thousands of acres that are burning simultaneously with 40 mile per hour winds... it just happens to a point where there's nothing they can do." https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEl1aPHtD4Z/?igsh=dGprdXBtbGIyOXo1 That's obviously and scarily accurate to what's taking place in Los Angeles as we speak. And another, more recent episode that's believed to be released around three weeks ago once again honed in on the topic of California wildfires. It's unclear whether this was the same conversation Rogan alluded to in the first clip, but he did add some more details, including a dark prediction that a firefighter in the Los Angeles area had back in the early 2000s: "When I was filming 'Fear Factor' I talked to this guy who was a fire guy for the fire department. He said, 'It's just going to be a matter of time. There's gonna be one day where a fire hits L.A. and the wind is the right way and we're not going to be able to stop it. It's just gonna burn right through to the ocean. It's just a matter of time. We all know it.' I go, 'What the f**k dude? The whole city?' He goes, 'The whole city.'" Terrifying. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DElA7pUtBNb/?igsh=OHQ2YWdiMmwwbWI2
